"Milk, I've got a surprise for you on your birthday! I know you're going to love it. Tada! I managed to borrow—okay, maybe snatch—View's LP music player, and guess what? I got you a vinyl copy of our favorite song. Yahoo! I'm more excited than the birthday girl herself! Of course, I'd never forget your special day. All the important dates are locked in this brilliant mind of mine. I even remember your cat's name, Sugus—born March 8, 2020! You're welcome!" I made a playful bow.
"Wow! It sounds amazing, doesn't it? The original singer did the song so much justice—way better than your personal singer over here," I teased. "Do you want to know a secret? Well, since it's your birthday, I'll be honest with you." I took a deep breath before confessing.
"You know, that song really reminds me of you. I was truly enchanted to meet you. Honestly, when I first saw you, I thought you were a model. I mean, you're so handsome, and there's no way you're not a chick magnet. You looked so cool and pretty. If you had a line of fans, I'd definitely be your number one fangirl."
"I was a bit sad, though. I wanted to bake you a cake, but I'm not exactly a pro in the kitchen. So, I got you a mini cake instead. It's tiny, like me, but isn't it cute? It even looks like a tomato, like your cheeks. You know I love those cheeks of yours. I secretly pinch them when you're not looking. Oops! Now you know because I talk too much."
"Hey, did I ever tell you I'm a good dancer? What? You don't believe me? Oh, you'll be surprised to know I can dance smoothly. Yup, I can even pole dance—if only I wasn't too shy to show you. Also, I used to be a cheerleader. Yes, you heard that right! I was the alpha cheerleader, and our group was called 'Sizzy.' Sounds a lot like Ciize, doesn't it?"
"Anyway, would you dance with me? Don't be shy. How about this: you'll be the prince, and I'll be the princess. Please, Milk? Just for your birthday—please say yes?" I laughed so hard. We were having so much fun on this special day—her special day.
I even did a little bow, like a couple about to dance at a ball, just like in the Disney movies. Holding her hand, I helped myself spin around, giggling. I kept swaying our hands to the tune of our favorite song. She seemed so happy. I bet she was surprised to celebrate her birthday with me.
I blew out the candles on the cake for her and, without thinking—just as a reflex—I kissed her forehead. My face turned bright red, and I quickly apologized.
"Milk, I didn't mean to be clingy or go overboard. I was just happy. I know I'm not being very professional as your doctor, but I—I didn't mean to—"
Before I could finish, someone interrupted our little birthday celebration.
"Kapook?? What are you doing here?" I froze, shocked and terrified, like I'd just been caught red-handed by the police.
"No, Alpha, what are you doing here?" Kapook asked, her tone so serious it nearly made me faint from fear.
