"Thank you for setting up another meeting. I guess meeting in the café is much safer than risking another terrible experience like the one earlier. We almost got caught," she said, clearly shaken after the near-miss with Panly at my office.
"I apologize for that. I didn't know she'd show up unannounced. I really hope that won't happen again. We'll be more careful next time," I reassured her, hoping to ease her nerves. "So, how have you been, Alpha? What's new with you? I'm so happy you're finally back."
"Actually, after becoming an official doctor, I got so absorbed in my work that I barely noticed how much time I'd spent without resting. After years of sacrificing my social life, they gave me two months of mandatory leave for my well-being. They were worried that I wouldn't be able to focus properly during surgeries if I didn't take care of myself," she explained.
"Well, I agree. You shouldn't be too hard on yourself, especially when it comes to your health."
"I know, and that's why I took their advice. I used this opportunity to return to Bangkok, Thailand and try to recover the property I sold back when I was struggling financially," she said, reflecting on the sacrifices she'd made in her life.
"That's great! So, were you able to get it back?" I asked enthusiastically.
"Absolutely not. The new owner refuses to communicate or settle with me. After some digging, I found out she's one of your former co-stars, which is why I'm reaching out to you for help," she confessed.
"Ouch, so you didn't miss me—you just wanted to see me to get some help? That hurts, little one. I thought you loved me by now," I joked, flirting, though deep down I hoped she'd missed me. But I guess not.
"You're still as silly as ever! Of course, I missed you. You hold a special place in my life," she said sweetly. She was too adorable to resist.
"Who's this person? Tell me so I can help you as soon as possible," I asked, never expecting the name to shock me.
"Piploy," she said quietly, uttering the name of my ex-girlfriend. I nearly spit out my coffee but managed to stay calm.
"Oh, her. Sure, let me handle it for you. Just give me some time to sort everything out, okay?" I said confidently, though in reality, it would be nearly impossible to help. My breakup with Piploy had been messy, but she didn't need to know that. I didn't want to worry her more. I would do whatever I could to assist.
"You haven't changed at all—always willing to help me when I'm about to give up."
"No worries. Just promise me you'll relax during this vacation of yours," I said, hoping I could relax too after tackling this upcoming challenge.
