Somewhere in Oakland

Syara was waiting patiently outside of the gate for Lucky while scrolling on instagram.

Syara continued to act vigilantly, looking around the airport to make sure she wasn't being watched. Kisses was practically buzzing next to her, her eyes never leaving the gate.

When Lucky exited the gate, Kisses wasted no time, pushing through some of the people to get to Lucky who eagerly met her halfway, dropping her bags to rock side to side in a hug with her.

Syara smiled a small smile upon seeing Lucky, waiting for her and Kisses to separate and walk over to where she was.

The two separated from the hug, but remained holding hands, walking over to Syara who held her arms open for Lucky who gladly accepted.

Syara held onto Lucky around her neck, rocking side to side. "Missed you." Lucky muffled into Syara's shoulder.

Syara smiled, "me too, twin."

As they pulled apart, Lucky's smile slowly dropped upon seeing Syara's face.

"What the fuck happened to your face?" She asked, gripping Syara by the shoulders. "Kisses, what the fuck happened to her face?"

Syara smiled, "chill, Luck. It's nothing." She pried Lucky's hand from where it was on her jaw, moving her head to examine her eye. "I'll tell you later." She promised.

"How was the flight?" Kisses asked, carrying two of Lucky's bags from where she dropped it to give her a hug.

Syara held her hand out, allowing Kisses to place one of the slightly heavy bags into her hand. Lucky smacked her lips, walking back a little to grab the third bag.

"It was alright." Lucky replied, walking behind the two younger girls. "What y'all been up to?"

"You still running, Yaya?"

"Yeah," Syara replied, "I'm on the team now, practice start in a few weeks."

"That's good, boo. What about you Kissabear?" She asked as they walked through the double doors to exit the airport.

The car was parked relatively close to the airport, on the street. Syara sped up to open the trunk, so that she could put the bags in.

"Not much, just dancing, getting money." Kisses replied, classily.

Lucky smiled, nodding her head. "My babies growin' uppp." She dragged, dragging Kisses under her shoulder.

"C'mere, Yaya." She held an arm open for her too, knowing she wasn't as touchy as she and Kisses were.

"I'm—" Syara shook her head, pointing to her trunk that was still open.

Both Kisses and Lucky were waiting with their arms open insistently.

Syara sighed, closing the trunk and reluctantly joining the group hug. Her face was uncomfortable for the full minute that the hug lasted.

________________

Syara was sprawled out on Kisses' floor, looking for a movie to watch while Kisses and Lucky were getting ready in both of the bathrooms upstairs.

She wasn't in much of a rush. She was in some shorts and a cute shirt. It was a calm night for her. It always was when she went out, she wasn't looking for attention from any man, she just wore what was comfortable and looked good on her.

But, sometimes, Syara prioritized comfortability over accentuating her assets. And tonight was that kind of night.

"Yaya!" Lucky called from the bathroom. "Can you come do my hair?"
