Emma pulled her car up to the curb outside the apartment, putting the car in park as she looked over at you. The anticipation was palpable, but she couldn't help but feel a little amused by your excitement.

Emma: "You ready, Romeo?"

You took a deep breath, steadying your nerves. You looked over at Emma with a mix of excitement and anxiety.

Y/n: "As ready as I'll ever be, I guess"

Emma chuckled, recognizing the mixture of emotions on your face. She gave you a reassuring pat on the arm.

Emma: "You're going to be fine, Jenna's going to be over the moon when she sees you"

You nodded, knowing deep down that Emma was right. No matter how much the anxiety might be building, the thought of seeing Jenna again was enough to quash it.

Y/n: "Yeah, you're right, let's do this"

Emma nodded, hopping out of the car. She made her way around to the back, grabbing your suitcase and then waiting for you to join her on the sidewalk. When you did, Emma gave you a final comforting grin before you both made your way up the steps to the front door of the apartment building.

Your heart was pounding in your chest as you both approached the door to the apartment. You tried to steady yourself, repeating a silent mantra in your head: 'It's going to be fine. Jenna's going to be happy.'

Emma: "Remember to breathe, okay? You look like you're about to pass out"

You took a deep breath, letting it out slowly as you tried to calm your racing heart. You nodded, giving Emma a weak smile.

Y/n: "Yeah, yeah, I know, I just...I really want this to go well, I want Jenna to be happy to see me"

Emma nodded, understanding the pressure you were putting on yourself. She gave you a supportive pat on the shoulder.

Emma: "She is going to be happy; I guarantee it, she's probably already wondering why you haven't called her yet, so let's put her out of her misery"

You chuckled weakly, feeling your nerves easing slightly under Emma's steady reassurance. You took another deep breath in, then exhaled slowly, trying to clear your mind of any negative thoughts.

Y/n: "Okay, okay, I'm ready"

Emma nodded, her hand on the doorknob. She gave you one last encouraging smile, then turned the knob and pushed the door open slowly. The faint noise from the TV could be heard from the living room, but there was no immediate sign of Jenna.

Your heart was back to racing. You followed Emma into the apartment, every muscle in your body tense as you waited for the sound of Jenna's voice or the sight of her figure appearing.

Emma led the way to the living room where the TV was on, the volume low. As you both came into the room, you saw Jenna sitting on the couch, her back toward you, her focus on the show she was watching. She hadn't noticed your arrival yet.

Emma glanced over at you, watching the anticipation and tension etched on your face. She gave you a small nudge forward, silently encouraging you to announce your presence.

You took a shaky breath, your eyes fixed on Jenna's unsuspecting form on the couch. You wanted to call out, to say something, but your throat felt constricted. It took a few moments, but you finally managed to squeak out a word.

Y/n: "Jenna"

Jenna started, seemingly oblivious to your presence until that moment. She turned around quickly, her eyes widening as she saw you standing there.
