Days had gone by quite quickly and the day for Jenna to head back to L.A. had finally arrived.
Emma: "Ok, I've loaded all of our luggage's in the car, you ready to go?"
Asked Emma as she entered the apartment.
Jenna: "As ready as I'll ever be"
She replied, while doing one last check around the apartment to make sure nothing had been forgotten. Emma noticed the hint of sadness in Jenna's expression, understanding the bittersweet feeling of leaving a place that had become a home, albeit temporarily.
Emma: "It's tough saying goodbye, isn't it?"
Jenna nodded, a small sigh escaping her lips.
Jenna: "Yeah, it really is I've grown quite fond of this place over the last few months it almost feels like home now"
Emma: "Well, look at it this way, we're only saying goodbye to the place, not the memories we made here"
Jenna: "Yes, you're right, we've had some pretty unforgettable moments here, I'll always cherish those"
Emma: "And on the bright side, we're going to L.A., that's exciting, right?"
She gave Jenna a hopeful smile, trying to lift her spirits. Jenna chuckled lightly, her mood lifting a bit.
Jenna: "You're right. L.A. will be exciting, I'm looking forward to seeing Y/n again, too I've really missed her"
Emma: "Oh yeah, you two lovebirds, you've been counting down the days, haven't you?"
Jenna: "Ha ha, very funny yes, I've been counting down the days but it's not just about missing her, I want to see our home, the nursery, everything"
Emma: "Nesting is a real thing, huh?"
She joked, nudging Jenna playfully, Jenna playfully shoved her back.
Jenna: "Hey, this baby is going to be here soon of course I want everything to be perfect, you'll understand when you have kids one day"
Emma: "Kids? Me? I can barely take care of myself"
Jenna: "Oh please, you're more responsible than you give yourself credit for, you'd make a great mom someday"
Emma: "Yeah, maybe someday, or maybe I'll just be the cool aunt who spoils the kid rotten"
Jenna: "I can totally see that happening, you'll be the aunt who sneaks the kid cookies and candy and lets them stay up way past their bedtime"
Emma: "Hey, those are the perks of being an aunt, I get all the fun without any of the responsibility"
Jenna: "Until the day comes when the parent asks you to babysit, then the responsibility hits you like a ton of bricks"
Emma: "Nah, I'll just conveniently be busy that day"
Jenna: "Oh really? That's a bulletproof plan"
She said sarcastically, not buying her excuse for a second, Emma just shrugged, a mischievous grin on her face.
Emma: "If there's one thing I'm good at, it's coming up with creative ways to get out of things I don't want to do"
Jenna: "Yeah, I know I've been the victim of your last-minute 'emergencies' more than once"
She rolled her eyes, but there was amusement in her tone, Emma raised her hands mock-defensively.
Emma: "Hey, those were genuine emergencies, you can't prove otherwise"
Jenna: "Right? cause watching a livestream of a Seventeen's concert is considered an 'emergency'"
Emma: "Hey, that livestream was a matter of life and death, I couldn't miss it, okay?"
Jenna just shook her head, trying to suppress a laugh. Emma could be ridiculous sometimes, but she still loved her anyway.
Jenna: "Yeah, sure, life and death whatever floats your boat, but changing topics we really gotta get going"
Emma nodded, checking the time on her phone.
Emma: "You're right, we don't want to miss our flight"
Jenna: "Alright, let's go then"
They said their final goodbyes to the empty apartment and headed out, locking the door behind them.
The drive to the airport was filled with a mixture of excitement and bittersweet farewells. They made small talk along the way, both of them trying to keep each other in high spirits.
Once they arrived at the airport, they checked in and made their way through security. Soon they were settled in the terminal, waiting for their flight to be called.
Emma busied herself with checking emails on her phone, while Jenna stared out the window, watching the various airplanes take off and land. She mentally prepared herself for the long flight ahead.
The hours ticked by slowly, but eventually their flight was called for boarding. Jenna and Emma collected their carry-ons and made their way onto the plane, settling into their seats and getting comfortable for the journey ahead.
The plane took off smoothly, and soon they were in the air, flying towards their destination. Jenna leaned back in her seat, watching the clouds pass by outside the window. In her mind, she was already planning all the things she wanted to do when they arrived in L.A.
Emma, on the other hand, was already fast asleep, her head leaned back against the seat, a small drool spot forming on her chin. Jenna chuckled quietly to herself watching her peacefully sleep.
Jenna took the opportunity to relax and listen to music, closing her eyes and letting the melodies wash over her.
As the hours passed, the plane continued its journey across the ocean. Jenna alternated between taking naps, watching movies, and listening to music. She occasionally glanced out the window, seeing the changing landscapes below.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the pilot announced that they were starting their descent into L.A. Jenna felt a flutter of excitement in her stomach, mixed with a bit of relief. They were almost there, and she was one step closer to seeing you again.
Emma woke up just as the plane touched down on the runway, disoriented for a moment before realizing they had landed. They gathered their belongings and made their way off the plane and through the busy airport, the scent of familiar sights and sounds hitting them like a wave.
As they walked through arrivals, Jenna's heart beat faster with every step. She scanned the sea of faces waiting for their loved ones, hoping to spot a familiar one.
Then, as they rounded a corner, Jenna's eye caught a glimpse of a familiar figure standing a few meters away. You, looking just as beautiful as she remembered, were standing there with a bouquet of flowers.
Jenna's heart skipped a beat as your eyes met, and without wasting another second, she rushed forward, almost knocking over a few people in her way. You, equally excited, dropped the flowers and spread your arms wide, ready to embrace Jenna. As soon as you were close enough, Jenna launched herself into your arms, burying her face in your neck.
For a few moments, you stood there in the middle of the airport, clinging to each other like your lives depended on it, not caring about the rest of the world around you. Then, reluctantly, you both pulled back enough to look at each other, taking in every detail you had both missed for the past weeks. You lifted a hand to cup Jenna's face, your eyes filled with love and tenderness.
Y/n: "I missed you so much"
Jenna: "I missed you too"
She leaned in, capturing your lips in a soft kiss. It was as if time stood still, and for those few seconds, everything was perfect.
Finally, Jenna is done filming and both Emma and her are back in L.A. and ofc most importantly Jenna and you are reunited once again.
