TESEHKI
I've been up half of the night, losing sleep about everything that's going on. Between Rollie needing space from me, Ace being nowhere to be found, me being pregnant. It's just a whole lot of bullshit."You need to rest, girl. Being restless ain't good for the baby."
Blue handed me a bottle of water. Chrisean invited me over to stay with them for as long as I need until I feel confident with staying on my own again. I sighed and took the bottle of water.
"Thanks, Blue. And I know, I'm trying. Are you sure you don't know where Ace went? Or even Kaydence?"
"I deadass don't. The time I seen them in the hospital was the last time that I seen them in two months. I even tried texting and calling, and nothing."
"Do you think all of this is because of me for real?"
"Let's not worry about that nigga Ace for now. Have you started thinking about baby names yet?"
"If it's a boy, I was thinking Ace Jr or AJ. I think Ace could be a good unisex name. And if it's a girl, I was thinking Tatiana."
"Those are nice, I fucks with them."
"Blue! Leave my sister alone and let her be!"
I heard Chrisean shout from the other room. Blue rolled his eyes and started to shout back.
"I ain't bothering her, I'm entertaining her! She's all lonely and shit in here!"
"Whatever!"
"You're fine, Blue. Don't mind her."
I laughed and laid back in the bed, rubbing on my stomach and sighing. Blue then pulled up a chair and placed it close to the bed, sitting down in it.
"Are you gonna give the baby Ace's last name?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"
"I was just wondering. I also just remembered something, you're gonna kill me."
"Oh God, what is it?"
"The last time that I seen Ace, she gave me something for you. There was just so much shit going on that I forgot until now since we're talking about her. Let me go get it."
What? What the fuck did Ace give me? And how the fuck did Blue forget all of this time?!
It took Blue two minutes to come back into the room with a medium sized box. I nervously took the box and raised my eyebrows.
"What the fuck is it?"
"Girl, I don't know. I never asked nor opened it. Open it to see."
Blue shrugged and sat back down on the chair. I took a breath and slowly opened the box, shocked at what I seen.
It took all of this to make me realize that she really did love me, and I just played with her...
It was an iced out chain with my name on it. Attached to it was a note that read;
Sehki,
I'm sorry that things between us didn't work out. I wanted more than anything for you to be mine forever. No matter what happens, it'll always be you, and only you. I hope you enjoy this chain that I got customized for you.
Forever yours,
Ace"Blue, I fucked up... I need to find Ace..."
"We don't know where she is, Tesehki. We're not going to drive all around the state trying to find her. We don't even know if she's still in state."
Blue and I then heard the doorbell ring. A few seconds later, Chrisean started yelling out.
"Sis, Natalie is here! I'm sending her upstairs to you!"
"Okay!"
Multiple seconds later, there was Natalie walking into the room where I was staying. She smiled as she seen me and walked over to me, hugging me gently.
"How have you been feeling?"
"I'm okay. Well — Blue's slow ass just showed me this two months after forgetting."
I held up the chain that Ace gifted me before leaving. Natalie sat down next to me, turning her focus on Blue.
"Do you think I can have alone time with my bestie here?"
"Sure thing. Watch after my niece or nephew."
"Nigga, please."
Both Natalie and I started laughing as Blue exited the room.
"I love her, Nat. I really fucked up. I just wish I could go back two months and do the right thing by her. Why was I so stupid?"
"You have to stop stressing about this so much right now. Stress and sadness is no good for the baby. You can worry about Ace later on."
"What if she never comes back? What if she's moved on somewhere and finally gave up on me?"
"I don't think Ace would ever fully move on. She loves you way too much. Whoever the new girl would be, she would never stand a chance against you. Right now, you just need some sleep. Please, just rest."
"I can't properly rest. There's too much on my mind."
"Just try your best, mama. We all want this baby to come out nice and healthy."
