THIRD PERSON'S P.O.V
"You have to tell them both, Kehlani! Why would you hide this from everyone for so long?!"Ahna was at Kehlani's house about two days later. Even as Kehlani's cousin, Ahna had no clue that Aaliyah was Ace's daughter. She didn't even know Kehlani knew Ace!
"I'm sorry! I didn't know how! We had a one night stand, and I never seen her again until now! Why do you think I wanted to work at her shop so bad?! I'm trying to work my way with telling her!"
"If it was just a one night stand, how are you positive that Aaliyah is Ace's daughter?"
"Ace was the only one I slept with during that period of time. And Aaliyah looks just like her."
"You possibly are about to ruin everything even more for Ace! She has a six month old baby with her fiancé! I know I used to like her, but that's when she was single!"
"Ace was the one to come onto me seven years ago! We met at a party because she was trying to forget about Tesehki just for a little while! I didn't know it would lead to me getting pregnant with her child!"
Kehlani exclaimed. Ahna sighed and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Look, I'm sorry. I'm not meaning to yell at you like that. It's just, she's already going through enough and I feel bad. But you have to tell both her and Aaliyah the truth. You can't hide no longer."
"Mommy, are you okay? You and Ahna are being loud in here, I'm trying to go to sleep."
Aaliyah was at Kehlani's doorway, rubbing her eyes. Ahna eyed Aaliyah, then Kehlani. Kehlani knew what had to be done. She looked at Aaliyah.
"Come here, baby. Mommy has to talk to you. About something very important."
"What is it? Are you okay?"
Aaliyah started to walk towards Kehlani. Kehlani sat on the bed and pulled Aaliyah onto her lap, starting to speak.
"What I'm about to tell you is going to be confusing. But later on in life, I'll explain it more to you. When you can understand it more."
"What's wrong, mommy?"
"You know how I never talk about your daddy or anything?
"Yes."
"Well... it's because you don't really have a daddy."
"What do you mean?"
"Aaliyah, baby... your other parent is Ace."
Aaliyah's little face was left with nothing but confusion. She couldn't believe what she had been hearing.
"What? How come she pretends like she doesn't know me?"
"She doesn't know that you're her daughter. I never got the chance to tell her. I'm sorry for hiding it from you for so long, Aaliyah. I just didn't want you to keep asking for someone that I couldn't find. I had no clue where Ace was until now."
"What do I call her? Because I call you mommy."
"You can always call her mama. We just have to tell her. We can tell her together, okay?"
"Okay. Can we go tell her now?"
"In the morning, Aaliyah. It's too late now. Go get going back to bed now. I love you."
"I love you too, mommy."
Aaliyah softly smiled at Kehlani, kissing her on the cheek and then walking over to Ahna.
"Goodnight, Ahna."
"Goodnight, baby. Go and get you a good sleep."
Ahna kissed Aaliyah on her forehead before she walked out of the room. Kehlani looked up at Ahna with a sad look in her eyes.
"Are you sure this was the right thing to do?"
"Yes. You always have to be honest. Even if the truth hurts some people."
