''It's okay I've done it a bunch. Come on''Shay said making darce grin and run past tally grabbing her hand and dagging her along in the process

''All right''tally said running along with them''what are you doing?''tally asked breathlessly as they came to a stop just before the river

''Drop your ring on the branch''Shay said as she pulled her ring off and did the same thing making darce shrug when tally looked at her and do the same tally soon following suit''they'll think were having a picnic''

''Our boards aren't even gonna work there. There's no grid''tally exclaimed not wanting to go

''They're magnetic there's metal in the river, minerals''darce said to tally as she wrapped her arms around her''come on it will be fun...i think''

''Just stick to the water and it'll be fine''Shay said smiling as she gestured towards the river that was so magical despite it having nothing to do with the city

It was real and that was what made it magical

''where are we going?''tally asked as Shay ran back towards the boards making darce grin and grab tally's hand as they followed after confused and excited

Turns out they were boarding over the river and darce had never been happier. The water that splashed onto her as she flew above it with the two people who had made her laugh and feel loved despite everything that had broken her heart

The cold air biting at her cheeks. The wind that moved so beautifully trough the trees and carried the leaves down to the grass below

It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful and for the first time in her whole life she felt free from everything

''I've never been to the rusty ruins before''tally said as darkness started to seround them the longer they stayed outside walking towards this park where cars rested broken down from so long ago''what is that?''tally asked looking at a metal frame that moved up high into the air

''rusties called it a roller coaster''Shay said as she looked at where they were looking while walking backwards''doesn't work anymore but its killer boarding''Shay explained

''Come on!''shay said as she turned back around and ran forward with tally and darce running afterward

When they reached a building so high and broken down serounded by buildings that had crumbled and shattered with the years darce felt some sort of fear settle in her bones as darkness became more and more close

''we have to head back soon we're gonna miss curfew''tally said as they walked up the stairs of the huge broken down yet somehow still standing building

''Forget curfew''Shay exclaimed breathlessly as they reached the top''look at the ruins from here''Shay breathed out making darce bend over panting before seeing how high up she was and stumble backwards

''What is that?''tally asked curiously as she looked at Shay who smashed things together

''Flint and steel bang them together, they spark''Shay explained as she showed it to them creating fire

''Fire''darce kneeled before the fire to warm herself up while her eyes stayed on the fire she silently listened to he conversation between Shay and tally
