"What are you reading?"
That was the question thrown by the local Scarlet Supernova Blader, who was basically climbing over on the couch as he was trying to read whatever the younger blond boy is reading right now.
Problem is; the book is in French. Aiga doesn't have a single clue what any of those words mean.
Dante, who seemed completely unfazed by the maroon haired boy, continued reading while answering the question. "Just some romance novel of my favorite series. Nothing that special."
"You made it seem like I can't enjoy some romance every once a while." Aiga said blankly.
"Your love life is practically in shambles at this point. How about you confess to Valt-senpai first, then we can chat." The blond replied with a playful irritated smirk. Aiga just snorted at the response he got.
"You seem to enjoy romance stories, yet you don't seem so interested in the prospect of finding romance yourself." The older boy jumped up, and landed on the couch, causing the Dragon Blader to jump up a bit from his seat, but still remained unfazed, seemingly very focused on what he's reading.
"Romance in stories and romance in real life is incredibly different. Putting the same romanticism structure that applies in fictional worlds to real life is bound to become catastrophic." Dante replied, flipping another page. "I enjoy my own company and treating myself to things."
Aiga just nodded.
Well, it's not like he can relate; he's been crushing on the older bluenette boy who bore the nickname of 'Wonder Boy' for the longest time now, and the others are absolutely agonizing on when he'll be able to confess, Dante included. And it doesn't help that the bluenette boy in question is absolutely oblivious to this.
Well, he had a lot of things to worry about, so he honestly doesn't have time to even suspect things like this. Which is both a relief, but also an agony at the same time for Aiga.
"Do you always import books from France? I'm sure I see similar covers of these books at shops with Japanese translations." The older boy said, looking at the cover of the book that he felt like he had seen this book before when he was out with Bell to get a list of groceries that Hikaru asked the other day.
"I do. I actually once bought a Japanese translated copy of this book one time, and let's just say... It didn't give me the most impactful impression compared to the original version." He answered.
"How come?"
"Well, for starters; some of the words in French are difficult to translate to Japanese, those words are what gives the storyline itself a certain feeling that you couldn't describe, but you can certainly feel. Another thing is that I sometimes forget what some hiragana words meant, and I would be struggling to read for the last hour or so." The young boy chuckled sheepishly, remembering how he asked his uncle to translate some of the words from the Japanese translated book he was reading into Spanish, because his uncle doesn't understand French and only understands Spanish aside from Japanese and English.
Well, it was a good thing both understand Spanish at the very least. Otherwise, it'll be a disaster of a language barrier.
Aiga just laughed lightly.
Bell does have the same problem from time to time. Due to Bell's first language being English instead of Japanese (Bell was born in America too if he remembered correctly), he sometimes speaks in English whenever he doesn't know a certain word in Japanese, and resorted to using English. Sometimes, he went full English because he forgot his Japanese.
It's also similar to how Valt uses Chinese and Korean words and phrases on something, but he won't go as far as to use complete Chinese or Korean; Japanese is still his first language, after all. He understands everyone perfectly well, as long as you don't use any other language other than Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and English. You'll be met with a blank look of the Wonder Boy if you do.
"Also." Dante continued. "I guess it's also for me to remember home from time to time. I have a rather... Complex feelings for the place of half of my heritage, but I don't really hate it. It's not perfect, but it was my home." He said, finally lowering his book.
The maroon boy could clearly see the soft expression of fondness on Dante's face.
There might be a time where Dante felt homesick from time to time, but it's not like he regretted coming to Japan.
Both places are home to him either way.

A lot of OOC and lore dumps here. I just wanted to be more in depth of how the characters are when I added my headcanons. It's not related to my book, but the headcanons mostly came constant, so this is just them in general.
So yeh, this'll be my new Beyblade Burst one-shot book now. It's mostly story-driven too than pure randomness, as there are good stories I would like to write, but not progress as a full story, as I don't necessarily have the patience nor the time to make more books. I'm not as active as I was years ago either, so this'll just compensate for it on my part.
Expect the ships that I go to. Don't expect me to go multiship, so sorry about that :")
Ships:
Aiga x Valt
Ranjiro x Hikaru
Basara x Bell
