Aival in full focus now-
~~~
He breathed in.
Then he breathed out.
His knuckles were in the color of crimson. But it wasn't his blood.
His nails (that he forgot to cut) had some skin in it, proof that he had been scratching on a piece of flesh.
But that's not his worry right now.
He looked at the person in front of him; unconscious, unmoving, but seemed to still be breathing. Their body is covered in scratches and bruises, some parts of their body, namely their face and arms, were bleeding the most, and the arms are still gushing out blood.
He feels nothing.
Other than the leftover rage he had moments ago, he had nothing in his system about the person.
His eyes moved to the direction of another unconscious body, placed a little further away from where he stood.
Unlike the person, his face was facing downwards, you can't see his face.
His legs were bleeding, they were bleeding so much. The legs don't seem to be in a good condition, almost as if they were destroyed.
He walked to him, the feeling of dread, sadness, and fear, slowly started to creep onto him.
As soon as he's at the location he desired, he sat on his knees, picking up the body, who seemed to be a taller and older person than him, flipping him upward before putting the head on his lap.
He wrapped his arms around the body, feeling how absolutely and absurdly frail and weak it felt. His limbs are unresponsive, he was unresponsive.
He didn't realize that the tears started to form in his eyes, until a teardrop fell onto the face of the person he was holding.
“Please… Please… Wake up… Be okay… Please…”
He can't tell how much time has passed.
He felt so… Numb.
He couldn't remember much; everything happened in a blur, so he barely had any recollection, other than beating the person up, and having Valt in his embrace, praying for him to wake up at least.
“Hey, Aiga?”
He snapped out of it, meeting a pair of the exact same face, owned by a pair of twins. It is sometimes scary how they looked absolutely alike, despite the major differences.
Even then, he couldn't say anything, other than;
“... I'm sorry…”
He feels like he's the biggest failure to ever exist.
Can you blame him? He wasn't able to protect him, his boyfriend. He managed to knock out the person responsible, but that didn't change a single thing.
Valt is hurt, and it was all his fault. He couldn't take care of him better, despite the promises he made with Mrs. Aoi, and the twins.
“Calm down, it's gonna be fine, dear. Don't blame yourself for it.” The soft voice of the owner of Aoi Pan said to him.
There was no anger, no fury, no disappointment, no nothing. Just pure worry and sadness; sadness for her eldest in the situation he is now, and sadness for his lover that blamed himself for the incident, despite that it wasn't his fault.
“Mrs. Aoi, I… It is my fault!” The maroon boy said, tears rolling down. “If… If I didn't take so long, if I didn't leave him alone… He… He…” His voice cracked, he was at his breaking point by now.
