To understand the basis of this AU;
Everyone will receive a “blessing” at the year where they will be turning 10, it's called a “Sacred Pond” ceremony.
These blessings will be given different types of powers, and they're always randomized, but they actually represent a person's character (taking this from someone's observation about Genshin visions from Hoyolab LMAO-)
The powers the bearers produce from their cores will be everlasting, so they won't disintegrate like how nature does it.
But they still react to opposing elements like how nature does it also, but generally;
Natural vs everlasting = loss of natural.
Everlasting vs everlasting = depending on the element and reaction if they're opposing, or non-reactive at all if the powers are the same.Although if a bearer fights with a bearer of the same power, it WOULD do harm on them, compared to fighting between different power bearers.
People with cold powers can't stand warmer temperatures.
People with hot powers can't stand colder temperatures.
People with empty-temperature powers can't stand both.
People with neutral-temperature powers can stand both.
Some are exceptions, but that also depends on how they are, their lifestyles, and their preferences, but this is what they generally are.

Bell never liked the cold, that was obvious. Even after so many years, he despised winter time.
He'd much prefer to stay indoors and close the curtains. Anything is better than having to witness the ground he walked on daily to be embedded with that cursed blanket of white over it.
Yet,
He had received the Tears In Winter at the Sacred Pond’s ceremony for his year, and he couldn't be any more displeased than he already was.
A true irony, and an absolute mockery, truly.
He envied his friends, as well as his seniors who got their blessings before him (as he was the youngest among them alongside with Hannah), wishing that he could change his blessing to at least one of theirs.
Anything will do, just not snow and ice.
“I think they're wonderful.” His lover, Basara, told him after he finished venting to him about what had bothered him. Holding the now-naturally-frosted hands of his dear beloved, feeling the cold surface of his palms and fingers.
He snorted, but making sure to not make it sound offensive to him. “You say everything about me is wonderful.” Although he would accept all compliments his way, particularly from Suiryu for obvious reasons.
“I'm not wrong, aren't I?” The pale bluenette said with a smirk, before pulling one of his hands to kiss it on the backhand, which the younger boy could only blush without saying a word. The warmth that came in the wake of the kiss was definitely endearing.
Basara got his blessing a year before him, along with everyone within his year, and he was given the Eye of Blazes, the same one Hyuga had.
Well, it's giving him good excuses to get warm hugs from him, as after getting his blessing, his temperature dropped significantly, and since he doesn't like the cold to begin with, it's a personal win for him. Basara would take any excuse just to hold him anyways.
