Chapter 15

Was this all a dream? I've lost all sense of time. Waking up, fighting things, being dragged off, and falling asleep/drugged? I'm not sure about the drugged but I'm being like, suuuuper sleepy and I'm never ever sleepy. Was this my life now? Was there no hope whatsoever? This can't be it. The metal grate that confined me screeched open. "Hey! Get up!" I looked up. It was my sister! "I'm too tiredddd." She looked very worried all of the sudden. "Oh dear. They've already drugged her, what should we do?" She called down the hallway. "Just carry her or something?" A voice responded. "Who dat?" Ivee sighed. A new person jumped in "I am the one, the only, Jasperrrrr!" Ivee looked super tired. "Their my partner for my mission. I'll tell you everything when we get back, but right now I need you to to help me leave, ok?" She then shoved some earbuds on my ears. It was playing BITE ME - Nightcore'd AGAIN. I suddenly felt awake and ready to go. I quickly broke the shackles that were holding me and popped up. Ivee nodded approvingly and all three of us started running to the exit. Some guards popped out but this time I was ready. I quickly took them out and we got outside. I pulled out one of the earbuds and asked "Now what?" "Now," Ivee said "Its Jasper's time to shine." They nodded and made a portal. "Quickly now." I jumped in and Ivee and Jasper soon after. We were nowhere close to Space Chickens. "Where are we?" Ivee started messing with a rock and it opened up into a hole "A place to hide." She shoved me in and followed suit. At the bottom of the hole was a apartment? What is this place? It was pretty small but adorable nonetheless.  There were string lights and lots and lots of books. "Time to explain yourself sis!" I said turning around and crossing my arms. She signed and sat down. "This is gonna take a while." I sat down across from her and said "Well you better get to it then. "Ok then, it all started a few months ago, Ace went on a mission and came back a month ago right before your induction ceremony. I had done some research into his mission a few weeks prior and there were some inconsistencies. He then tried to drag you off to Everglen, but you beat him enough to escape. I didn't have time to ask you about it because I got sent on a mission. We got captured and yeah. The place we were in was..." She took a deep shaky breath, "A VVV facility for testing on prisoners. We figured out that doing something that either ment a lot to you or made you feel happy or hyped could negate the spell that was over the facility. I knew for you, that would mean music. So I made a illusion of earbuds that would play music that made you feel happy. That's how you managed to escape." I nodded "And how about y'all? How did you escape?" She looked super nervous. "Well, um. Uhhhhhh." She mumbled something. "Huh?" She looked super scared. "Jasper like, asked me out? And now we're like dating?" I looked at her confused. "I mean like, slay but also like you said you weren't gonna date nobody because that would weigh you down." She looked surprised "Well, people change?" I giggled. "Of course they do Ivee! I'm just kidding with you, congrats!" She looked super relieved. "Oh I forgot something, the head of Space Chickens may be... Working for VVV and is evil?" My brain stopped. "What? I mean that makes sense but still! Who is he working with? What are his plans? What's he gonna do? What's going on? WHAT THE HELL!" My sister looked concerned. "How about we all just go to sleep and think about this tomorrow? Nothing will change." I scoffed "This is like, world changing Ivee! We can't just 'sleep on it' Like bro! No!" Ivee walked up to me and put her hands on my shoulders. "You need actual sleep. Your body is exhausted and needs nutrients and help. Let it get that help." I sulked for a minute before saying "Fiiiiiiiiiine." "Thank you! Now off to bed I will drag you." She then dragged me to a blowup mattress and tucked me in. "Now go the fuck to sleep." I sighed "Whatever." She walked off and went to her own room and turned off the lights. But my worries were too strong. Sleep was a lost cause. I wanted to talk to someone. Whenever I closed my eyes I saw that horrible place. I wanted to cry. I have to be strong. No matter what. I can do it. I can do it. I can't do it. Tears streamed down my face. I was scared. No point in denying it at this point. Eventually I fell asleep with dreams of locked cages and green walls.
