Chapter Two: The Set Up, Miles Vs Kurumu

A few days later, Miles, his brother and cousin adjusted to the lifestyle of Yokai Academy. Learning about monster and human history helped the Grayson boys understand the purpose of human and monster coexistence. The problem with this, as Miles even brought up, is it would never work. It was a cute idea and hell, it would work for now, but as times change, a war would erupt. What would they do then since most of the human race would have been dead and gone?

That question tidal waved the minds of the humans and monster students. Regardless, Miles could see it becoming a reality. But it can also become a reality that could doom humanity and the monster race as they know it. Now Miles has seen his share of monsters doing the right thing as well as humans. But that didn't outweigh the horrors he, his brother and his cousin had seen.

After class, one day, Miles was seen going towards his locker. Walking on the opposite side was Kurumu. Miles felt something tugging around his waist before feeling himself get jerked through the hallway to the soccer field outside Yokai Academy.

"Uh-Oh." Evan heard the loud thud while in the library with Ruby

"Make that...Big Uh-Oh." Said Ruby

Miles groaned, his back aching as he sat up in the crater his body had created. "Ugh... What the hell, man?" He winced, rubbing his neck as he looked up and saw Kurumu floating above him, her wings outstretched, her eyes burning with fury in her full Succubus form. "What is your problem? Shouldn't you be hanging around your harem king or something?" Miles asked, his tone dripping with irritation as he dusted himself off. He'd noticed Kurumu before—the way she would stare at him sometimes when Tsukune wasn't looking. He wasn't oblivious to the fact that she, along with Ruby, Yukari, Mizore, and Moka, was part of Tsukune's so-called harem. But Miles had rules. And one of those rules, taught to him by his father, was simple: never mess with another guy's leftovers. It was a code he lived by—until now.

"I thought you were as tough as Moka," Kurumu sneered, her voice thick with contempt. "But I guess you're not. Calling me a leftover... It's one thing when I admit that to myself, but for you—a nobody—to dare mock the fact that I'll never earn Tsukune's love... You're gonna pay. I'll make you pay for humiliating me!"

Miles rolled his eyes and stretched his arms, seemingly unfazed. "Okay, then. Ms. Leftovers, make me pay." His tone was almost teasing, daring her to come at him.

With a scream of frustration, Kurumu dove at Miles, her claws aimed at his chest. Miles dodged effortlessly, leaning back and side stepping each strike, his expression almost bored. Kurumu's frustration grew with each missed attack, her movements becoming more erratic and desperate.

"WHAT'S GOING ON?" Toby's voice cut through the air as he ran outside, eyes wide at the sight of Kurumu and Miles clashing. He could hardly believe what he was seeing.

"YOU SHOULD LEARN YOUR PLACE, KURUMU!" Miles shouted, easily dodging another attack as the fight continued. "A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN LIKE YOU SHOULD BE WITH SOMEONE OF HER CALIBER! SO WHY HASN'T IT HAPPENED YET? WHY DO YOU KEEP WAITING AROUND FOR SCRAPS WHEN YOU COULD HAVE A STEAK DINNER AT OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE?!"

Kurumu's face twisted in rage and confusion. "What the hell are you even talking about!?"

Miles laughed, continuing, "IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME HOW WOMEN IN HAREMS JUST CAN'T MOVE ON OR FIND SOMEONE ELSE! AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING SOMETHING HAPPEN WITH ME! I'M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW, IT'S NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!"

Kurumu's eyes flared with fury, her attacks becoming even more aggressive, but Miles continued to dodge with ease, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. For nearly ten minutes, he toyed with her, dodging, taunting, and provoking her without even breaking a sweat.
