CHAPTER TEN: UNYEILDING CHAINS
Jaeyun sat in the corner of the dimly lit room, his knees pulled to his chest, trembling as the echoes of his recent punishment reverberated in his mind. His entire body ached, bruises and welts scattered across his pale skin, reminders of Heeseung's rage. The air was suffocating, heavy with the weight of his fear and the overwhelming realization that escape wasn’t an option—not anymore.
The room felt like a cage. No windows, no means of escape. The walls seemed to close in on him, taunting him with his helplessness. Heeseung had been right all along: there was nowhere to run. Jaeyun’s attempts to flee had only deepened his torment. The violence Heeseung inflicted on him was brutal, merciless. It left Jaeyun terrified in a way he hadn’t been before.
He had thought Heeseung was dangerous from the moment they met, but this…this was a nightmare.
The door creaked open, and Jaeyun’s head shot up, his pulse quickening. Heeseung stood in the doorway, his tall frame casting a dark shadow into the room. His expression was unreadable, cold and composed, but there was something lurking beneath that exterior—a darkness that made Jaeyun’s blood run cold.
“Still sulking, are we?” Heeseung’s voice was quiet but dripping with a dangerous edge.
Jaeyun swallowed hard, his heart hammering in his chest. He wanted to respond, wanted to scream, beg, or do anything that might make Heeseung show a sliver of mercy. But he knew better now. Heeseung’s cruelty was unwavering, and any defiance would only lead to more pain.
Heeseung slowly approached him, each step deliberate, his gaze never leaving Jaeyun’s trembling form. “You should’ve known better than to run, Jaeyun,” he said, crouching down in front of him. “I told you—there’s no escape. You belong to me.”
Jaeyun’s breath hitched as Heeseung reached out, his fingers brushing against the fresh bruise on Jaeyun’s jaw. Jaeyun flinched at the contact, the pain still raw. Heeseung’s touch wasn’t gentle, it was possessive—an assertion of control.
“I don’t understand why you keep resisting,” Heeseung murmured, his thumb trailing over Jaeyun’s skin. “Don’t you see how pointless it is?”
Jaeyun clenched his fists, trying to suppress the wave of panic that surged through him. His entire body screamed at him to run, to get away from this monster who claimed ownership over him, but there was nowhere left to go. He was trapped.
Heeseung’s hand gripped Jaeyun’s chin, forcing him to look into his eyes. The intensity of Heeseung’s gaze was suffocating, like he could see straight into Jaeyun’s soul, and what he saw only fueled his obsession.
“You’ll never escape me,” Heeseung whispered, his voice laced with a terrifying certainty. “The sooner you accept that, the easier things will be for you.”
Jaeyun felt his stomach churn. Heeseung’s words were like chains tightening around him, binding him to this life of torment and fear. The idea of giving in, of submitting to Heeseung’s twisted control, made Jaeyun sick. But the alternative—the pain and suffering that would follow any attempt to resist—was even worse.
“I… I don’t understand…” Jaeyun whispered, his voice shaking. “Why are you doing this?”
Heeseung tilted his head slightly, a cruel smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “You don’t need to understand, Jaeyun. All you need to do is obey.”
Jaeyun’s eyes filled with tears, the hopelessness of his situation crashing down on him. He had no choice. No way out. No one who could save him. Heeseung had him completely under his control.
Heeseung stood up, his gaze never leaving Jaeyun’s tear-streaked face. “I’ll leave you alone for now,” he said, turning toward the door. “Think about what I’ve said. Because next time you try to run, the punishment will be much worse.”
Jaeyun’s entire body tensed at the threat. He didn’t doubt for a second that Heeseung meant every word. The violence he had experienced earlier had been brutal enough, but the promise of more—of worse—sent a fresh wave of terror through him.
As Heeseung left the room, closing the door behind him, Jaeyun’s mind raced. He had to get out. He had to find a way to escape this nightmare before Heeseung completely broke him. But how?

Heeseung's POV:
Heeseung leaned against the wall outside the room, running a hand through his hair, his heart still pounding from the encounter. He had seen the fear in Jaeyun’s eyes—the same fear that had kept him compliant, broken, and weak. It satisfied something deep inside him, seeing Jaeyun so utterly under his control.
But this wasn’t enough.
Heeseung’s obsession with Jaeyun had grown over time, festering inside him until it consumed every thought, every decision. It wasn’t just about control anymore. It was about ownership. Jaeyun wasn’t a person to Heeseung; he was his. Something precious, fragile, and completely in his grasp.
Heeseung had tried to be patient. He had given Jaeyun time to adjust, to understand his new reality, but Jaeyun’s defiance was wearing thin. The boy didn’t realize how lucky he was to have Heeseung’s attention, to have someone like Heeseung willing to keep him safe—even from himself.
The thought of anyone else getting their hands on Jaeyun, of him being free to live a life away from Heeseung, made Heeseung’s blood boil. He couldn’t allow that. Not ever.
Heeseung clenched his fists, trying to steady the growing anger bubbling inside him. His cousin, Sunghoon, was still a lurking threat, always seeking to undermine him, to steal everything from him—including his empire. Sunghoon’s ambition was dangerous, and Heeseung knew he had to keep an eye on him. But his thoughts always drifted back to Jaeyun. Sunghoon could wait.
For now, Heeseung’s sole focus was Jaeyun. Breaking him, molding him, ensuring that Jaeyun would never try to escape again.
And if Jaeyun couldn’t be broken through fear alone, Heeseung had other ways to make him submit. More violent, more painful ways that would strip away whatever resistance Jaeyun still clung to.
Heeseung smiled to himself, dark and twisted. One day soon, Jaeyun would understand. He would stop running, stop fighting. He would surrender completely to Heeseung’s will.
And when that day came, Heeseung would finally have what he wanted—a Jaeyun who was his, and his alone.

Jaeyun's POV:
Jaeyun’s breaths came in shallow, uneven gasps as he sat huddled on the floor, his mind racing. He knew he couldn’t stay here forever. But what choice did he have? Heeseung was always watching, always ready to punish him if he stepped out of line.
His body hurt all over, and his heart ached with the hopelessness of his situation. No matter how hard he tried, there was no escaping this. Heeseung would always be there, a looming figure in the shadows, ready to pull him back into his grip.
And Jaeyun was terrified of what would happen if he ever tried to run again.
