The sound of a notebook slamming shut echoed through the apartment room, followed by the clattering of a thrown pencil on the wooden desk.

A sigh that sounded more like a groan escaped Beomgyu's throat.

"Another day, another entry."

At this rate I need a hobby.

Beomgyu at twenty one years old wasn't afraid to admit he still kept a journal.

He knew what snickering reactions his sister or his close friends would have if they found out about it, such as "journaling is for babies" or "you're 21 not 12" or "get a therapist instead of wasting ink and trees."

In Beomgyu's defense however, paying money for a therapist would cost a dozen more trees than the one or two trees he'd sacrifice by paying for two 200 page journals, plus an emptier bank account than it already was.

Heck I'm having trouble paying the rent.

The ashy haired boy picked up the notice letter off his desk that reminded him his dear old cranky landlord wants his money pronto.

Beomgyu would gladly and gracefully deliver the envelope of money to his doorstep on the floor above him, if he would be getting his paycheck from the supermarket he works at on schedule and not three days later.

Oh scratch that.

He knew exactly why he was having trouble keeping up the rent.

Dear Diary
Guess who's back at it to complain about how shitty my love life and rental life is at just twenty-one years old?
That's right, it's me.
At this point I need to find something different to talk about, but I guess life says heck no to that, humans are slaves to their emotions, and emotions control you more than you can ever dream to control them.
Or maybe that's something only an INFJ like me deals with, cuz I never see Taehyun act the way I do.
Oh who am I kidding, why would he, he has his two boyfriends that pamper him in love and kisses and smooches and hugs and I don't know what else.

You will not be able to guess what came to my mailbox today, right? Exactly, another rent fee notice from my lovely landlord.
Demanding 5 million won in cash by the end of this week.
Is that woman crazy or something?
Either that or she's suffering from some pretty serious case of dementia that she forgot that there's only ONE fawking person living in her second apartment now instead of two.
Yeonjun you little bitch you owe me big time.

Beomgyu knew that if anyone read his diary, they would have a lot of questions.
Especially the one questioning why exactly every single damn entry on those damn empty lined pages is about his best friend who he's in love with despite knowing he has a girlfriend?
Wait what?
Let's rewind that a bit.

I know that our high school times are long over.
That it's no longer just us two, the crazy kids living down the block who prefered walking over taking their bikes in the mornings, and somehow managed to turn every Friday in the cafeteria into a competition over who gets the biggest chocolate brownie first.
Our days of being theater kids who were actually passionate about being in the theater club and not just because their parents made them, spending hours after hours in the auditorium, on stage, singing, dancing, or acting out rom coms or other scripts we could find— those are all in the past now.
I know I sound dramatic and petty, especially when Yeonjun and I are studying at the same university, share the same majors, and even have closely linked schedules so that we don't miss each other too much.
Yet somehow he manages to miss as much time as possible.
And I know why.
He's far too focused on his girlfriend now.
