Martiza walked through the crowded hallway, the chatter of her classmates echoing around her. The news of Hawk's plans to ask Sunny out hung heavily in her mind, a weight she couldn't shake off. As she approached her locker, she felt a familiar flutter in her stomach when she spotted Miguel leaning against it, his posture casual yet unmistakably nervous. The sight of him made her heart race, and she couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and mischief bubble up inside her.

"What's up, Mitchell?" she called out, deliberately using the wrong name to tease him. She loved how he squirmed whenever she did that. As she punched in her locker code, she glanced at him from the corner of her eye, enjoying the flustered look that spread across his face.

"Uh, so, Martiza. I, uh, was wondering. Um... well..." Miguel began, his words tumbling out in a hesitant stammer. She could see his cheeks growing redder by the second, and it made her smile.

"Spit it out, Diaz. What do you need?" Martiza leaned against her locker, crossing her arms with a playful smirk. She enjoyed the way he struggled to find the right words.

"I-I've been thinking about you a lot lately... I mean, not a lot a lot. Just a normal amount that someone would think about someone else," he finally managed, his voice faltering as he met her gaze.

Martiza couldn't help but chuckle, reveling in his nervousness. "So, what are you asking me?" she pressed, leaning a bit closer, her playful tone encouraging him to continue.

"Iwaswonderingifyouwouldgooutonadatewithme," he blurted out in one breath, the words spilling forth so quickly that she almost didn't catch them.
