In the cozy, pastel-colored haven of Moon's room, the soft, warm light filtered through sheer curtains, casting a gentle glow over the space. The walls were adorned with artful sketches and photographs of the twins, showcasing their bond and shared adventures. The air was thick with the sweet, floral scent of nail polish, mixing harmoniously with the faint notes of music playing softly in the background-a playlist of their favorite songs.

Sunny sat cross-legged on the plush rug, her back straight as she focused intently on her twin sister's nails. She had always loved doing Moon's nails, and today, she was meticulously applying a vibrant lavender polish that matched the soft purple hues of the curtains. The brush glided smoothly, each stroke a testament to Sunny's dedication.

"Hold still, Moon! I'm almost done," Sunny urged, her brow furrowing in concentration as she carefully painted the edges of Moon's nails, making sure to avoid any smudges.

Moon, with her bright smile and upbeat energy, giggled in response. "You're so meticulous, Sunny! It's like you're painting a masterpiece!" She playfully wiggled her fingers, admiring the wet polish. "Just think, in a few minutes, my nails will be fabulous!"

Sunny couldn't help but grin at her sister's enthusiasm. "Just a little more patience," she said, dabbing the brush to get an even coat. As she finished the last nail, her phone buzzed insistently on the nearby dresser, breaking the momentary bliss.

"Hold on a second, Moon. I have to take this," Sunny said, glancing at the screen and seeing Eli's name flash brightly. She quickly stood up, her heart racing with a mix of excitement and curiosity.

"Hey, Eli! What's up?" she greeted cheerfully, but her expression shifted instantly as she heard his voice on the other end.

"Sunny, don't freak out, but I'm in the hospital," Eli said, his tone urgent yet shaky, sending a chill down her spine.

Sunny's stomach dropped. "What?! What happened?" she demanded, her heart pounding.

"I got bitten by a rabid dog," he explained, and Sunny could hear the tension in his voice, a stark contrast to her earlier cheerfulness.

"Rabid dog? Oh my god, Eli! Are you okay?" Panic laced her words, and she instinctively gripped the phone tighter, as if it could somehow bridge the distance between them.
