Ashlyn's eyes go wide and she glances at the creature in front of her. The phantom shifts, spinning so it's face-to-face with her.

"Not good!" Tyler yells.

"Ashlyn!" Taylor calls.

The phantom lashes, but Ashlyn is quick to react. She rolls from its hand, avoiding getting her face ripped out. However, it gets ahold of her long braids and pulls. Ashlyn cries out, "get the weapons!"

I scramble out from under my seat but instead I run to Ashlyn. I stomp on the creature's head and I grab both of its wrists. I scan the bus and am relieved to see Aiden and Logan pull Ashlyn up from under the seats.

I struggle against the phantom's strength. I let go of one of its wrists and I grab the back of its head, slamming it against the bus wall. I back up, watching as it's already recovering.

Before anyone could do anything, Aiden runs past me and grabs the creatures arms, almost as if in an dance. He spins the creature gracefully and lets himself fall on the bus seat, hauling the phantom over himself into the window.

"Close the window!" He yells.

Ashlyn and Logan quickly obey, clicking the window and pushing it shut. I notice the phantom's hand escape his grasp, headed straight for Logan.

Everything that happened next was so fast.

One moment, I'm pushing Logan out of harms way. Next moment, if feels like knives are slicing into my side. I cry out in pain and crumple into the chair, letting my hair fall in my face.

"(Y/N)!" Tyler is at my side in seconds. His hand worriedly grabs my thigh. I can tell the wound is bad by the way his eyes widen.

"Help the them, I'll be fine-"

"No—"

"Taylor, Logan, grab the legs! Ben, you stab it!"

They all listen and and a few seconds later I hear a disgusting spurting sound.

"Yeah, we should probably hurry and patch her up." Aiden smiles. I look up at him with tear stained eyes and gasp but quickly wince in pain. It looked like ink was sprayed all over his face.

I stare at my wound. Blood was flowing out of it and it stung and burned terribly. I look up to see that Aiden, Ashlyn, Ben and Tyler were also looking at it.

I was in my sports bra (thank God), and I could tell everyone was thinking.

I wiped my watering eyes and grabbed the first aid box with shaky hands.

"(Y/N), let Ben do it. I know you know how to do this stuff but you're losing a lot of blood." Ashlyn suggests.

I breathe in shakily. "Alright." My eyes felt very heavy but I refused to close them.

"I'll help." Tyler speaks up. Ben looks at him and nods.

Everything that happens next is a blur. Ben and Tyler disinfect, bandage and wrap my wound. I didn't know who it was but I'd squeeze someone's hand when something burned too much or rest my head in their palm.

I zone back into vision as Ben packed up the first aid kit. Tyler tied a knot on the bandages near my waist.

"Should we postpone the Savannah discussion?" Ashlyn asks.

"No." I groan, grabbing the window frame to stand up.

"But y/n..." Taylor looks at my bandages.

"This is important."

There's a moment silence. My mind spins and I didn't realize I was about to fall until Tyler caught me and held me by my uninjured waist.

"We should experiment with that thing." I say firmly. I wasn't going to be a burden.

Everyone seems interested interested but I feel Tyler's breath against my ear as he scoffed

"Maybe we should experiment with it? See what is most effective in dealing damage to the body?" Taylor suggests.

"We'll, since it's dead, let's take a closer look!" Aiden taps his phone and turns on the flash. Bad idea.

As soon as the light touched the phantom's body, it started bubbling and spazzing. Everyone jumped back and Tyler's hand pressed against my back, making me blush.

"Turn it off!" Tyler demands.

"Okay, okay!" Aiden frantically turns the flash off the the body stops fizzing.
