ABBY
Kelsey and I walk into the bar and it's already pretty busy, which makes sense because it's around 10:30pm. I look around and see some people sitting at tables and talking with friends, some at the bar ordering drinks, and some are standing around either dancing or just hanging out.
"Wanna get a drink?" Kelsey says in my ear because it's so loud. I nod my head and grab her hand as she leads us to the bar. We find a space for us to sit and wait for the bar tender to finish making the drink he's making.
he finally walks over in our direction and Kelsey yells his name. We've been here a few times now and at this point on a name-to-name basis with him. "Sean!" She yells over the music and people talking.
He looks up, sees us and smiles. "Hey! how are my favorite customers doing?" he yells back. "Cmon Sean, you literally say that to everyone so you can get tips" I say smiling. He shrugs, "And it works almost every time ha-ha. What can I get for you guys?" He says.
"I'll just have a beer" Kelsey goes first. "Okay, Abby?" He says and looks at me. "I'll just have a Pepsi" I order, and He nods and goes to grab our drinks.
I turn and look around at everyone. I may not get drunk when I go out, but I do love going out. I don't know what it is about it. The music and dancing and letting loose for the night is just so much fun for me. Especially after working all day.
"Here you guys go!" I turn back around and take my drink. We pay, thank Sean and walk away to find somewhere to sit. As we drink our drinks, we take the time to catch up. We don't get a lot of time to do that at work because it gets so busy surprisingly.
"Oh my god! I forgot to tell you! I don't know how this slipped my mind!" I randomly yell. "What happened?" Kelsey says, giving me her full attention."
"After you left work today, I was cleaning the counters, As I always do when it's finally empty. And guess who walked in!" "Oh my gosh who?!" She says getting excited to hear what I'm gonna say. "Billie fucking Eilish!" I yell a little too loud making the people near us look over. I quiet down and say "I'm not even lying. I went to my register to take the order because I heard the bell on the door chime and hadn't even looked up yet. But when she said her name, I froze bro.
"No fucking way! You met her!!!! AHHHH! I'm so happy for you!! How did it go? You kept calm right?" She says with her eyes widened. "I did. I'm very surprised I did but I did" I nod. "But when she was about to leave, she asked if I had tickets to her show and I basically said I'm broke and she had me write down my email and sent me two FRONT ROW TICKETS!" She almost spits out her drink just hearing that. "We're going to see Billie Eilish?!" She says getting so excited. She's also a big fan but not as big as I am.
I nod "We're going to see Billie Eilish!" We squeal and grab each other's hands out of excitement.
As We're about to keep talking, someone starts speaking into the microphone on the stage in front of us.
"Alright! We're about to get started with Karaoke! I just want to remind everyone that a good amount of people in here have been drinking and are most likely already drunk. So, if you sound bad, don't sweat it! Nobody will remember in the morning anyway!" They say, making everyone laugh. "Okay! Who wants to go first?" A few hands raise and the person choose one to start.
As the night goes on less and less people raise their hands, which means, they'll probably end Karaoke sometime soon.
"Are you gonna go up? Cmon your gonna miss your chanceee" I hear Kelsey beside me. "Yeah, I'm just nervous ha-ha, it's been a while Kels". She smiles "I know you are. But you have an amazing voice, and everyone needs to hear it!" She says and holds my arms. Shes right. I have to get back out there and show people what I got. I nod and smile at her before raising my hand to go.
