ABBY

I wake up the next morning and see I'm still in the basement, but I now have a blanket covering me, my head is resting on Billie, and her arm is around me? We're all still down here? I lift my head and look around. Kelsey is still next to me sleeping. And Finneas and Claudia are gone. Maybe they had things to do. 

I slowly get up from the couch, careful not to wake up Billie and walk upstairs to find the bathroom. I vaguely remember Claudia mentioning there's a bathroom downstairs as well. I get upstairs and start looking but see Maggie in the living room drinking tea. 

"Good morning! You must be one of Finneas and Billie's friends. I'm Maggie, it is so nice to meet you". She says as she sets down her mug and comes over to greet me. 

"Hi, good morning! It's so nice to meet you as well. I'm Abby" I introduce myself. 

"Abby! I've heard so much about you! Finneas is very excited to work on the song with you! And I'm sure Billie is also equally excited to have you visit. I was just about to make some pancakes, would you like to help?" She asks. 

"I'd love to! But first, where is the bathroom? Claudia mentioned it yesterday but I'm having a hard time remembering". I smile at her. She's so sweet, I love her more than I already did. 

"Oh! It's right there around the corner" She points and I thank her before heading in that direction. 

I finish up in the bathroom and make sure to wash my hands before heading back to the kitchen to help Maggie. 

"Honey are you vegan by any chance?" She asks with a smile. 

"I'm not but I'm always willing to try new things" I smile back at her. 

"Great! We are going to make some vegan pancakes! Both of my kids are vegan, as well as Patrick and I so that is what we eat all of the time. I hope that's okay" 

I nod and tell her it's okay with me and we begin. 

About 30 minutes later We are almost finished. Maggie is finishing up the dishes and I am making the last of the pancakes, using the last little bit of batter. 

"Morning mom" I hear a voice that could only belong to Billie. I look up and see Billie giving her mom a hug and a kiss on the cheek. 

"Morning honey. Abby and I made some pancakes, if you're hungry you can go ahead and take a couple off of the plate of finished ones" 

Billie says okay, takes a plate from the cabinet and walks over to me. She leans over to the plate located right in front of me, and as she does, she gets a little close making my breath hitch. 

"Good morning, Abby" I look up at her as she places 2 pancakes on her plate and pulls away. "Good morning" I respond with a slight smile to be polite. I don't know why i'm having such a hard time talking to her. We were fine in New York. Maybe it's the fact that she didn't bother responding to me once since she left the city, yet her brother did. She acted like we were friends and even kissed me then seemed to have forgotten all about me once she left. 

She sits across from me on one of the bar stools and stares at me as she starts to eat. 

I finish making the last few pancakes and Maggie washes the pan. I take 2 pancakes for myself, pour some syrup on them and sit down to eat. 

"Well, it seems like we're all finished here. I have some things to do for Support and Feed, so I'll be out for a bit. But Billie you know to call me or your father if you need anything. And Abby sweetheart, Finneas wanted me to let you know, once you're all ready for the day, give him a call or a text and he will come get you to head to his place to work on the song"
