It was a pretty relaxed night in the Class 1-A dorms. The usual noise filled the common area—Kirishima and Sero were setting up a video game tournament, while Deku was caught up in a heated discussion about strategy with Iida and Todoroki. Mina and Ochaco were scrolling through social media, occasionally giggling at funny videos.

And then there was Bakugou, sitting in a corner of the room, arms crossed, eyes shut, and legs stretched out in front of him like he was trying to block out the world. Normally, this kind of situation would have set him off. The noise. The bickering. Someone probably getting in his way. But recently, everyone had noticed that Bakugou seemed... calmer.

Kirishima had noticed it first. “Hey, Bakugou, you wanna join us?” he asked, waving a controller in his hand.

Bakugou cracked one eye open. “Nah,” he grunted, though his voice didn’t have the usual edge to it.

Kirishima raised an eyebrow, turning to Sero. “Dude, am I crazy, or is Bakugou... not flipping out right now?”

Sero shrugged, chuckling. “Guess today’s a chill day for him.”

Mina piped up from the couch, throwing a teasing look in Bakugou’s direction. “Oooor maybe it’s because Y/N’s not here today, and he’s feeling all lonely and mopey.”

Bakugou’s eyes snapped open, his glare sharp as ever. “Shut it, Pinky, or I’ll blast that stupid smile off your face.”

Mina only laughed, knowing Bakugou’s threats weren’t serious these days. She wasn’t wrong though—whenever Y/N was around, Bakugou was... different. They had this way of calming him down, pulling him back from his usual anger, and everyone had noticed the shift.

Just as Bakugou looked like he might launch into one of his rants, his phone buzzed on the table. Without thinking, he snatched it up and unlocked it. A small smile tugged at his lips when he saw the message.

Y/N: Hey Kats, sorry I couldn’t make it tonight. Hope training wasn’t too rough. Don’t kill anyone, okay?

Bakugou grumbled something under his breath, typing back a quick response.

Bakugou: Yeah, yeah, don’t worry about it. Just get some rest.

He was about to put his phone away when he heard a voice behind him. “Awww, is that a cute little text from Y/N?”

Bakugou turned, eyes narrowing. Mina, of course. She was leaning over the back of the couch, grinning widely. “What do you think you’re doing looking at my phone, you nosy—”

Before he could finish, Kirishima’s voice cut in. “Wait, wait, wait.” He pointed to Bakugou’s phone, a slow smirk spreading on his face. “You and Y/N... are a thing, aren’t you?”

The room fell into an eerie silence. Sero and Mina both gasped, leaning forward with wide eyes. Even Todoroki raised an eyebrow at the unexpected development.

Bakugou’s face flushed slightly, his grip tightening on his phone. “What the hell is it to you?”

Mina’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Oh. My. God. Bakugou has a boyfriend! And it’s Y/N! This is the cutest thing ever!”

“Don’t make a big deal out of it, you moron,” Bakugou snapped, the panic in his voice betraying his usual tough exterior.

But it was too late. The room was buzzing with excitement as the realization hit. Even Deku and Iida were exchanging surprised glances. It wasn’t that anyone thought Bakugou wasn’t capable of being in a relationship—it’s just that no one expected him to be the secretive, caring type. And with Y/N, no less.
