"Between Sets and Smiles"

Y/N wiped the sweat off her brow, taking a moment to breathe as the cool breeze blew in through the small café's open window. The café wasn't fancy, but it had its charm, and most importantly, it was located near the local volleyball courts. It meant Y/N had the perfect view of the action while serving coffee and pastries to customers. And she loved volleyball-though, to her, she was more of a commentator than a player.

"Another day, another game," she mumbled to herself, her eyes drifting to the ongoing match outside.

It was always fun for her to watch high school teams play, even if she didn't personally know them. She had her opinions on who had the best spikes or serves, but that's as far as her involvement went-until today.

A loud crash echoed from outside, and a stray volleyball smashed right into the shop's window, startling Y/N out of her daydreams. With a resigned sigh, she stood up to assess the damage when a tall, spiky-haired boy burst through the door.

"I'm so sorry! Are you okay? Did it hit you?!" He was frantic, eyes wide with concern.

Y/N blinked. "First of all, no, I'm not dead. Second of all, if I was, you'd owe me a lot of coffee." She grinned, trying to suppress a chuckle.

The boy blinked, looking relieved. "Uh, right. I'll... pay for the damage."

"Calm down, Mr. Spike," Y/N teased, folding her arms. "It's just a window. Besides, aren't you that guy from Karasuno? Kageyama, right?"

He stared at her, a bit surprised. "How do you know my name?"

"Y'know," she shrugged, "you're not exactly hard to miss with that brooding 'I'm the best setter ever' aura."

Kageyama flushed, caught off guard. "I don't brood!"

"Sure, sure," Y/N replied, holding back a laugh. "Anyway, I'll let it slide this time. Just make sure to aim better next time, okay?"

Kageyama left, flustered and confused, but thankful. And that was just the beginning of Y/N's encounter with the Karasuno boys.

The next time she encountered a player, it was during her break. She had stepped out of the shop to watch a match, sipping on a smoothie. The game was intense, with Inarizaki High and Karasuno going head-to-head. She couldn't help but notice the quick reflexes of the Miya twins on the Inarizaki side.

When the match ended, Y/N stretched, ready to head back to work, when a pair of voices stopped her.

"Oi, you watch volleyball a lot, don't ya?" It was Atsumu Miya, his smirk visible from a mile away.

She turned, meeting his confident gaze. "And you talk a lot, don't ya?"

Osamu, his twin, stifled a laugh. "She's got ya there, Atsumu."

Atsumu tilted his head, clearly not used to someone snapping back at him so easily. "You a fan of ours or somethin'?"

Y/N rolled her eyes. "Of volleyball? Yes. Of you? Eh, you're still growing on me."
