The world of Ashes to Authority is a beautiful, intricate place. It's a story that pulls you in—characters you grow to love, or hate, and a plot that weaves itself into every moment, with threads of fate tightening as it goes. But like all stories, it has its flaws. Mistakes get made. And when those mistakes risk unraveling everything, that's when we step in—the Muerlers.
We're the ones tasked with fixing those little... "imperfections." If we can't? Well, then the story gets reset. Wiped clean. Everything you've read, all the love, the pain, the triumphs—erased, like they never even existed.
This time, HE sent us here to handle what HE called a "minor issue." But let me tell you—there's nothing minor about it. The Enna issue is far from small.
Let me explain. Enna—he used to be one of the rulers of the Dragon Nation in the story Sunshine's Shadow. Maybe some of you have read that story, maybe it'll be released after the one you're reading now—I'm not sure where you stand in time. But for those of you who know Sunshine's Shadow, you get it. You know who Enna is, and what he can do.
For those of you who haven't encountered him yet, let me put it simply: Enna was a villain. Not the grand puppet master, not the one pulling every string like, say, the Golden Sovereign, but still dangerous. The kind of villain who knows how to play the long game, who's smart enough to see opportunities where others don't. He was a piece on the chessboard that shouldn't have moved beyond his place.
But here we are.
You see, when we reset stories—whether it's a full wipe or just a patch to clean things up—most of it stays the same. The parts that work? The parts that flow? Those remain untouched. But sometimes, when we fix one issue, another one emerges. That's just the nature of stories. You shift one piece, and sometimes the whole foundation shakes. And that's how Enna managed to escape from Sunshine's Shadow and slip into Ashes to Authority.
Yeah, you heard me right—he escaped. Followers—or characters, as you might know them—aren't supposed to do that. They're supposed to stay in their own stories. But something shifted when we patched another issue, and Enna—ambitious, calculating Enna—found a way to cross over into this world.
