Being inside the story like this... It's hard to explain, but it feels off. Like there's this thin layer between me and everything around me. It's all familiar, yet distant, like watching a reflection in a pond—you see it, but you don't feel it. I don't know. It's weird.

"So, how are we going to do this, Isha?" Igris asked, like he wasn't itching to dive headfirst into chaos as usual.

Wait, why am I even... narrating? Oh... right, you guys. Totally forgot.

Well, I guess I'll keep going.

"We should probably make a plan first," I say, already knowing he's going to roll his eyes at me. And he does.

"No shit," he snaps back, ever the genius.

I bite my tongue. Enna. Focus on Enna. "Look," I say, trying to keep the annoyance out of my voice, "Enna's smart. He adapts fast, faster than most characters. If I had to bet, he's already figured out everything, and most importantly the truth...

"Oh my! I didn't know you were capable of reading," Igris mocks, smirking like the smug bastard he is.

I swear, I'm one second away from punching him. Just one second.

I take a deep breath. "Anyway," I continue, trying to stay calm, "we need to start by tracking him. Enna's got his quirks, his habits. He leaves traces, clues, you know? We follow those until—"

"Ugh, stop yapping already," he cuts me off, groaning dramatically. "Why do you always gotta overthink everything? Let's just follow the main group, see where we end up."

I grit my teeth. He just loves to push my buttons. "You think this is a game, don't you?" I snap. "This isn't some walk in the park, Igris."

His smirk doesn't fade. "Yeah, yeah. You say that, but look, we're still standing here talking while a virus is still out there, probably already infecting everything."

He's right, as much as I hate to admit it. And he knows it. "Mhm... alright," I mutter, giving in for now. But trust me, when we get back, I am absolutely going to kill him.

"Finally," he grins, striding off ahead, completely carefree, while I'm left shaking my head. How did I end up with this guy again? Oh right, because HE  decided this would be my life now—babysitting the most insufferable teammate imaginable.

"You're welcome to join us, readers," I mutter under my breath. "Not like I have much of a choice, so might as well drag you along, right?"

"We're a bit like Alex and Derix, aren't we?" Igris broke the silence, his voice carrying a casual tone that I knew was hiding some deeper thought. "With our strange... friendship."

I shot him a sideways glance, letting his words sink in. "Mhm... maybe. But that's just right now. We don't work together that often." And thank Destiny for that.
