Eleanora yelped when she was again pushed inside a apartment. The doors slammed shut behind her. She slowly pulled her trembling body up and looked around.
The run down apartment she was taken to, looked old and creepy.
She hugged her legs and whimpered, leaning back against the wall. Her body had no strength to fight Gianni. Everything was hurting and she was slowly losing her sanity, the more Gianni tortured her. Hours went by and she kept staring at empty space.
Finally, the door opened and Santino stepped inside. He threw a piece of bread in front of her and leaned back against the wall.
Nora wasn't even aware about his presence.
"You know--" His voice made her jump as she was startled out of her thoughts.
Her heart dropped at his sight. Since when was he present here?
"--your friend is doing much better than you." His words made her freeze.
Friend?
"You are looking like a fucking corpse and it has been just four days. Alexander is literally putting that girl through hell but she is still fighting him."
Nora did not know how to react at his words. He was surely talking about Anastasia. But hearing about her own father, made Nora's heart sink.
"Last time I heard, she managed to stab his eye. Atleast she is trying even knowing there is no escape."
"W-why Anastasia? Please let her go." She was already crying, annoying Santino.
"Gianni can consider releasing you but Anastasia."
Nora was confused at his words.
"W-what do you mean?"
"Do you even know about your own family's history?" He left with this question.
Nora frowned.
What family history?
She knew that her brothers were doing illegal business. They were mafia and they had alliance with Anastasia's family and Dominic Gray. Putting stress on her mind, she tried to remember anything else important related to this. But no matter what, she came out blank.
************* Few hours later....
"Yo big brother!" Victor looked behind with an annoyed face to see his younger-- barely three year old-- brother making faces at him.
"Max! I'm serious. Stop this!"
Victor was irritated. Although, he always kept his emotions in check just like his uncle Dominic but Max always managed to push his buttons so far.
"~Ooohhh~ loosen up big brother! Look how dark it is! Creepiness is so amazing. I wonder if we will see a ghost. I'm gonna catch a ghost and keep it as a pet! You better believe it!"
Victor's nerves twitched at his brother's loud exclamations.
"Is that why you always ran away from home every night?" Victor grumbled out as he kept walking with Max skipping behind him.
"Ofcour--" Max paused.
Victor looked back to see him facing a apartment.
"What are you looking at?"
"That apartment. It looks so cool."
Victor should have realized earlier. He rolled his eyes.
"You always say that to every abandoned building, Max! AND No! You are not going in!" Victor said sternly.
"Ehh why not?!" Max whined.
"There's a high possibility to catch a evil spirit."
Victor ignored his sparkly eyes. He didn't understand why his brother was so obsessed with ghosts. He should be afraid!
His kid brother was just not normal. It was sure.
All of a sudden, Victor saw a distant car coming in their direction. He forcefully pulled Max to the side who was still rambling about breaking in the building.
Victor frowned a little as the car stopped, barely few metres away from them. The whole area was run-down and seeing someone coming here was surprising.
Victor pushed Max even further behind a tree as someone familiar exited the car.
"Big br--" He closed Max's mouth who was struggling to see what had piqued his brother's interest.
"Gianni?" Victor mumbled under his breath. He recognized him almost instantly. His mismatched eyes were easily not forgotten.
'His eyes!' Max squealed mentally.
They watched as he entered the apartment. As he entered, another man came outside. He was fumbling with a cigarette and looked lost in thought.
Victor was utterly lost.
What was Gianni doing here? Didn't he live in Italy? Was this apartment some kind of his base?
As Victor was thinking about him, he reminisced the day when he listened Dominic and their father Tristan's conversation regarding Gianni.
He was not trustworthy.
"Bwg bwo." Max let out a muffled sound. But he paused, seeing Victor all stunned and serious.
He stopped struggling too and waited for him to say something.
All of a sudden, a loud girlish scream reached their ears. Max flinched and Victor's posture stiffened too.
Santino looked in the direction of the front door.
The scream definitely came from inside, judging Santino's reaction.
A moment later, Gianni came outside. His head was bleeding and he looked furious. He stormed towards his car with Santino rushing behind him.
Max and Victor pushed themselves behind the tree once again and tried to listen.
"Don't call the doctor just yet. Let her suffer all night, that bitch!" Gianni cursed loudly and sat down in the car. Victor and Max watched it racing away.
Santino stared at the empty road and turned around to walk back into the apartment.
"What's happening?" Max asked confused. When his brother didn't reply, he asked again.
"Was it really a ghost or actual girl, big bro?"
Victor shrugged.
"Why not we find out?"
On the cue, Max's eyes started sparkling.
"Ay ay captain!"
Gray family coming in clutch lol! A little warning that you keep track on my book 'Lost gem' too to better understand the storyline.... If you do not want to read that book, it's totally fine too. You will get the idea by only reading Hsdb.
