"First Eleanora and now Anastasia." Wanda bit her lip worriedly as she looked through the headlines of newspaper. Heaving a sigh, she put the paper down on the table and held her head in her hands. Her brows furrowed and a worrisome look covered her face.
Her thoughts were cut off by the sound of crying. She looked in the direction of one of the room and stood up from the couch. She walked to the room and opened the door. Her heart melted at the sight of her triplets- Enrique, Arles and Emilio. They were barely a month old.
She could not help but giggle at the sight of sleeping Emilio. He was always sleeping without the worry of world despite the loud wailing of his two brothers beside him.
Emilio reminded her of Hades.
She cooed at Enrique and Arles and picked them up in her arms.
"There there there. Mamma's here." They both hiccuped and snuggled into their mother's warm embrace.
"MAA!" A loud yell of Max startled her. The babies started crying again.
"Max! Shh!" Wanda glared and set down on the rocking chair as Max burst through the door.
"Maa! Leave these brats! I finally found a ghost hehehe....!" Max laughed loudly ignoring Victor's stern look as he walked past him inside.
Wanda made a sush motion to her overenthusiastic son and looked at Victor expectantly, so he could explain.
That Victor did calmly within few silent sentences. Wanda blinked, taking in the whole situation.
"Are you sure that it was Gianni?" Wanda felt her mouth soured at the mention of that creep.
"Yes, mom."
She did not know that man well but he always gave her creeps whenever she saw him.
"Bring me my phone, Victor!" She commanded, going into a serious mode that had Max stilled who was poking Emilio's cheeks trying to wake him up.
Victor followed his mother's words and watched as she tried to call Tristan but to no luck he was not answering. She tried calling Dominic too but to no avail. A frustrated sigh left her lips.
"Damn these men! They are always glued to their phones and when it is some serious shit; they don't even answer!"
Both Victor and Max watched as their mother fumed in anger. Even Enrique and Arles calmed down almost like sensing their mother's wrath. Emilio pretended to be still sleeping.
"Martha!" She called the kids nanny and told her to take care of triplets for few hours. She wanted to leave Max back at home but he downright declined.
Wanda grabbed her gun and bag while Max told his plans to Victor with a most serious look on his face, about how he was going to catch this particular evil spirit-Gianni. Victor, however, ignored his scheming.
As Wanda stepped out of the front door, she swear she could hear the triplets crying. It was normal but she could not help but notice that Emilio was crying too.
She went back inside and true to her suspicion, it was seriously happening. Her lazy son was also bawling his eyes out.
With a smile on her face, she approached her sons. Martha stepped back to give her space. Wanda leaned down and kissed their foreheads, effectively calming them down.
"Mamma will be back soon. So be good and don't trouble Martha much." She grinned and stared back in her sons tears filled shiny eyes. Three of them were staring at their mother, despite being a month old, it looked like they could understand her well.
Wanda finally left along with her older sons. She drove to the same place and looked at the run down apartment building for a moment while parking her car at a distance.
"Are you two sure that this is the right place?" She asked somewhat unsure.
With a eager expression, Max nodded while Victor looked at the building curiously.
"There is only one man that was guarding the house and he must be inside. Along with whoever we heard screaming." Victor commented.
Max was excitedly waiting for his mother's next order. He was quite thrilled about exploring the haunted house.
"Stay here, you two and if your father or Uncle calls, tell them about the situation."
Max's excitement died down instantly.
"Maaa! I wanna come too!"
Wanda looked at him with a stern look on her face.
"I already regret bringing you here."
He looked at her like a wounded puppy but obeyed nonetheless. He was too scared to go against her order. Victor agreed nevertheless.
"Don't get out no matter what happens."
Wanda casually walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell. Few moments later, the door finally opened and Santino stepped out.
"May I help you?" He asked calmly while shutting the door and coming to stand in front of Wanda.
"Well, you may if you can. I'm actually lost. My phone's battery died down and I have no idea where I am." She lied swiftly.
"Who are you trying to fool, Wanda O'Gray?" He asked without dropping a sweat.
Unsurprised, Wanda gave out a small chuckle.
"My my my. So you do know me, huh? Why don't you help me a little then?" She took a step forward watching as he did not even move, just watched her with narrowed eyes.
"What do you want?" He asked silently, his stance calm and collected.
"Just some quick answers. You are working for Gianni, right?" Wanda proceeded to look at the door behind him. She was having a real bad feeling about this. Gianni and his group of hooligans were never to be underestimated. If this man and she had to fight, she would hardly stand a chance. But not in any way she was going to let any innocent one suffer more.
"That's none of your business." Santino replied, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
Wanda opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by a loud scream coming from inside.
"HELP ME! P-PLEASE SOMEONE!" A loud bang echoed on the door.
Wanda's eyes widened. There was no way it was her- she was in disbelief.
Santino let out a quick curse. She barely stepped back as he attacked swiftly with his daggers drawn out. He attempted to slash at her again but she backflipped, her gun was out and ready to aim.
BANG!
Both Victor and Max flinched at the sound.
