Chapter 12: The Party
Prince Adam was preparing to throw a party for himself and Rachel. He was surprised when Rachel agreed to attend the party, as he wasn't sure if she wanted to go. As he got ready for the party, Prince Adam felt nervous. He had fallen in love with Rachel from the moment he met her, and he planned to express his feelings for her at the party. However, he was unsure how to tell someone that he loved them, as he had never even told his parents that he loved them.
Prince Adam is anxious about the possibility of Rachel turning him down. Lumiere enters his room and asks, "Your Highness, are you prepared for the party?!"
With a heavy heart, Prince Adam responds, "I'm afraid Rachel will say no to me. I can't blame her! I've never experienced love before!"
Mrs. Potter comforts him, saying, "Miss Rachel won't reject you. I'm certain she has feelings for you as well."
Prince Adam replies, "I really hope you're correct!"
Mrs. Potter encourages him, "I am confident I am, so try not to stress."

Rachel is preparing for the party and feeling anxious since she has never experienced love before. Despite Prince Adam's unattractive appearance, she finds herself in love with him. Rachel has always been isolated, having only her family to confide in, and her responsibilities in helping her dad with bills leave her little time for friendships or a romantic relationship. Henry gifted Rachel a stunning gold dress adorned with real diamonds. As she makes her way to the dining room, she finds Prince Adam already present, and he is astonished by her beauty.
Mrs. Potter made a lovely dinner for Rachel and Adam. Both Rachel and Prince Adam were feeling anxious and weren't talking to one another.
Lumiere went up to Prince Adam and urged, "You should say something to her!" Prince Adam replied in a hushed tone, "What should I say?!"
Lumiere prompted him, "Just say anything!"
Without giving it much thought, Prince Adam asked Rachel, "Would you like to dance?!"
"Yes, I would love to!" Rachel responded with joy.
Prince Adam was taken aback by her answer. Lumiere then began to play the music.
Prince Adam and Rachel danced for hours, marking the first time Prince Adam had danced in years and Rachel's very first experience with dancing. After their dance, they enjoyed a lengthy walk together. Prince Adam let Rachel choose a rose from the garden, which he admired for its beauty, along with the other flowers and large apples that filled it.
"Are you close with your cousins?" Rachel inquired.
"I get along well with Ryan, but not with Andrew. Andrew was engaged to a woman named Susan Jackson. Susan and I ended up having an affair, and one day Andrew caught us in bed. I thought he might hit me, but he just walked away. Since then, I haven't talked to Andrew, and he has since moved to New York," Prince Adam shared.
"I used to be a terrible person before I transformed into a beast. I regret hurting Andrew like that, and I'm not sure if he will ever forgive me," Prince Adam said with a heavy heart.
"Adam, Andrew is a good man, and I believe he will forgive you. Just give it some time," Rachel comforted him.
"Thank you, Rachel. I've loved you since the moment we met. I know I'm a monster, but I hope you can see beyond that," Prince Adam implored.
"I never saw you as a monster; I just thought you were a spoiled brat. I love you too," Rachel responded with joy.
