Chapter 15: The Trick
Loki wanted to get married, but he had a hard time finding a wife. Rose had promised to help him find a wife, but she had not kept her word. When Loki was going to visit Rose, he planned to ask her why it was taking her so long to find him a wife. Rose saw Loki walking toward her house and noticed that he did not look happy.
"What's wrong with you?!" Rose asked angrily.
"You promised to find me a wife, but you haven't yet!" Loki replied angrily. "I will find you a wife. You need to be patient with me!" Rose replied angrily.
"I've been patient, but my patience is wearing thin!" Loki said, frustrated. "Martin Ross informed our father that he would permit you to marry one of his daughters if he lends some money. We need to travel to England, where Martin and his family have relocated," Rose responded.
The following day, Loki and Rose traveled to England and visited Martin's house. When Martin noticed them approaching, he became furious.
"What do you want, you wicked witch?" he shouted.
"You told my father that if he lent you money, you would let my brother marry one of your daughters!" Rose retorted angrily.
"I never said I would allow that monster to marry one of my daughters!" Martin shot back, equally upset.
"Yes, you did!" Rose insisted.
"I did borrow money from your father and agreed to repay him, but I've already paid him back!" Martin responded, still angry.
Rose warned, "This is the contract you signed that permits my brother to wed one of your daughters. If you refuse to let one of them marry him, I will place a curse on you and your entire family!"
Martin, feeling frightened, reluctantly consented to Lisa marrying Loki. However, Loki was disheartened because he wished to marry Emily, but since she was already married, he had no choice but to marry Lisa.
Martin was unsure how to break the news to Lisa that she was expected to marry Loki. He knew that Lisa had no desire to get married; she wanted to attend college instead. When Lisa returned home, Martin approached her to discuss the situation. Despite her frustration, Lisa understood that Rose was manipulative. She also believed that Loki and Rose's father had deceived Martin into signing an agreement. Although reluctant, Lisa agreed to marry Loki, but she made it clear that she would not allow him to touch her. Martin and Lisa planned to meet Loki and Rose at a restaurant.
Lisa and Martin had already arrived at the restaurant and spotted Loki and Rose waiting for them.
Loki attempted to kiss Lisa, but she shouted, "Don't you dare touch me, you wicked monster!" loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear.
Loki's anger flared, but he remained silent.
Rose tried to encourage Lisa, saying, "You will learn to love my brother." Lisa shot back, "I will never love your monstrous brother. Why don't you keep quiet, you evil witch? You and Loki are my enemies. I might marry you, Loki, but I will never allow you to touch me. I will never love you or respect you!"
Lisa noticed tears in Rose's eyes, as if she was on the verge of crying, but she was indifferent.
"I want you to give me a son!" Loki shouted in frustration.
"If you want kids, marry someone else. I'm not having any with you!" Lisa shot back angrily.
Loki was displeased.
"I don't want to marry anyone else!" he retorted angrily.
"When do you want to get married?" Lisa asked, her anger rising.
"As soon as possible!" Loki responded, still furious.
"I'm not leaving England. I'm staying here and going to college!" Lisa insisted angrily.
"I have no issue with you living in England and attending college," Loki replied, still upset.
Rose felt deeply hurt and began to regret pressuring Lisa into marrying Loki. She believed that Loki would change for the better once he was married, and she hoped that Lisa would eventually come to love him, though she was uncertain if that would ever happen. Loki stormed into Rose's house, filled with anger.
"I want a son! How can I have one if my future wife won't let me touch her?" he shouted.
Rose tried to calm him down, saying, "You need to be patient. Lisa will come to love you; you just have to earn her love and respect."
Loki, unconvinced, replied, "I don't believe you. Lisa looks at me like I'm a monster!"
Rose retorted, "You don't have to marry Lisa! You can choose someone else!"
"I don't want to marry anyone else!" Loki yelled back.
"You need to be patient!" Rose shouted in response.
