Henry stood again in Avalyn's cell, his imposing figure casting a long shadow over Avalyn. "You are a prisoner in my kingdom. I am your king. You will obey me," he declared, his voice cold and commanding.

Avalyn met his gaze with unwavering determination. "What if I refuse?" she challenged, her voice steady despite the fear that churned within her.

Henry's eyes darkened, and his voice dropped to a low growl. "Then you will face the consequences. I am not a man to be trifled with," he warned, stepping closer until he was towering over her.

Avalyn's heart pounded, but she refused to back down. "I will not be your puppet," she said firmly. "You can threaten me all you want, but I will never submit to your cruelty."

Henry's expression hardened a dangerous glint in his eyes. "You are testing my patience, girl," he said, his voice a menacing whisper. "I have broken stronger spirits than yours. Do not think you are any different."

Avalyn's resolve only strengthened. "I am not afraid of you," she said, her voice filled with defiance. "You may have power over my body, but my spirit is my own."

For a moment, Henry was silent, his gaze locked on hers. Then, with a sudden, swift movement, he grabbed her by the chin, forcing her to look up at him. "You will learn your place," he hissed. "And I will take great pleasure in teaching you."

Avalyn's eyes blazed with determination. "Do your worst, Your Majesty," she spat. "I will never bow to you."

Henry released her with a shove, a cruel smile playing on his lips. "We shall see," he said as he sat on the chair. "We shall see."

Avalyn's heart pounded fiercely in her chest, each beat echoing the turmoil within, yet her spirit stood resolute and unyielding like a steadfast flame against the darkness.

Henry smirked, leaning in close, his breath warm against Avalyn's ear. "Now, I want you to tell me what you were doing in my territory. Don't leave anything out," he demanded, his voice a dangerous whisper.

Avalyn's eyes flashed with defiance. "I was searching for my parents," she replied, her voice steady. "They went missing, and I thought they might have wandered into your lands."

Henry's smirk widened. "And you thought it wise to trespass in my kingdom without permission?" he asked, his tone mocking. "You must be either very brave or very foolish."

Avalyn lifted her chin, refusing to be intimidated. "I had no choice," she said firmly. "I will do whatever it takes to find them."

Henry's expression darkened, his eyes narrowing. "You are in no position to make demands or excuses," he growled. "You are my prisoner now, and you will answer to me."

Avalyn's heart pounded, but she stood her ground. "I will not be cowed by your threats," she said, her voice unwavering. "I will find my parents, and I will not let you stop me."

Henry stood up, his fury palpable. With a swift, forceful motion, he pushed Avalyn down to the cold, hard ground. He placed his boot on her chest, pressing down with a cruel intensity. "You are no longer in a position to make any demands or requests," he snarled, his voice dripping with venom. "You are my prisoner, and you shall obey me and my orders!"

Avalyn gasped for breath, the weight of his boot making it difficult to inhale. Despite the pain, she glared up at him, her eyes filled with defiance. "I will never obey you," she managed to choke out, her voice strained but resolute.

Henry's eyes blazed with anger, but beneath the fury, there was a flicker of something else—something he couldn't quite name. "You are a fool," he hissed, pressing down harder. "Your defiance will only bring you more suffering."

Avalyn's vision blurred, but she refused to look away. "Then so be it," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I will endure whatever you throw at me. I will not break."

For a moment, Henry was silent, his gaze locked on hers. Then, with a frustrated growl, he removed his boot and stepped back, "I shall certainly relish imparting unto you your lesson."

As he turned and strode off, Avalyn lay on the ground, struggling to catch her breath but brimming with a newfound resolve.
