"ARCOL!!!" Divna shouted with horror in her her eyes.

I watched as she placed a foot on the rail ready to jump into the waters.

My body reacted on its own, it quickly grabbed Divna by the arm and stopped her.

"What are you doing?" I asked her without thinking. My mouth is running on my own. Why am I stopping her?

"I'm gonna go save him!" She shouted in desperation. She's desperate to save him as soon as possible.

"How?! You go down there, you are entering their territory! Besides, no human can hold their breath for that long!"

"Then what do you suggest?!" She asked me with anger. If this continues, she may lose her temper and even attack me.

That's right. This is self preservation. If I don't figure a way to save Arcol, I'll be with him soon enough.

I quickly turn to the sailor before walking to him.

"Stop the boat." I tell him.

"I-I can't do that." He refused with a nervous expression. I can exploit that.

"I said stop the boat." I use a more forceful tone, hoping to intimidate him into doing what I want.

Unfortunately, a phantom blade appeared next to my neck as I saw it was the captain.

"Listen, lad. We ain't stopping here. If you want to get off here, you may. But we are not stopping this boat."

I see. Let's play your game, then.

"Some of your men were taken down there, too."

"I am aware. But casualties happen through every journey."

In a way I get it. With Erik's group we've also lost men. It is normal in the world for people to die in battle.

"In fact, you aren't really concerned about them, either." He started. "I can see it in your eyes, you are doing it for yourself, aren't you?

What? Can really see through me as he suggests? I can't confirm his suspicion in front of Divna. If she suspects I try to leave them she'll kill me.

The captain's sword disappeared before he looked at me.

"At best your friend has an hour to live. They prefer to start with the younger ones."

I stare at him as he does the same, both with hostile expressions.

After about ten minutes, Divna and I were now in a smaller boat as we watched the ship sail away.

All of this because Divna wants to save a single man.

"Great. Now I gotta row." I complained. I just know I won't be the one sitting idly.

"I already told you, we are not leaving until we get him back!" She refuted.

"And how do you plan to do that? There's no way in hell we can beat them in the water. And guess what. We are surrounded by water in a much smaller boat now! So go on! Tell me how are we going to save him!" I shouted my complaints to her. If those sirens decide they want desert, we'll be an easy prey. So go on! Tell-

My thoughts are painfully interrupted by a punch landing on my cheek.

It hurts. It hurts a lot. Honestly, her raw strength is unbelievable.

For the first time in my life, I want to let my anger explode against someone.

I lunged at Divna swinging a punch, but she quickly grabbed my arm and pinned me down to the floor of the boat.
