"WHERE DID that blast come from?" called out Lisa, after the explosion hit.
Then they saw a motion ahead of them and slipped further back into the trees.
"Hey, we know it's you guys!" called out Juan. Muri was behind him.
Eduardo didn't believe that these two were with that gang that they had left tied up in their library attic so he stepped out.
"Was it you two who were responsible for that blast?"
Juan nodded. "Yep. We were trying to get that gang to come out."
"There are only two of them left," said Solomon.
"We know where they are too," Lisa added.
Muri stepped forward. "We know. We had to kill two of them in self-defense."
Eduardo relaxed a bit. "Yes, we were there with you in the cafeteria remember?"
Juan shook his head. "They stabbed Muri, so I wrestled a gun from them and blam!"
Lisa stepped closer to Muri to examine her chest wound. "Have you had that treated? I'm a medical student."
"I did my best to clean it and applied antibiotic ointment, but you're free to look at it later if you wish." She winked at Lisa.
Eduardo rolled his eyes.
"Oh look! There are others! They are helping to put the shed fire out," said Juan.
Everyone looked in that direction. Apparently, a fire would bring people together.
"So, where are the gang members then?" asked Muri. "I don't see them in that crowd. And what is with the airplanes overhead?"
Eduardo looked up at the sky and counted at least six of them. "Maybe that explosion attracted them."
"There is going to be more," added Lisa. "Our friend, Spence, came to warn us. But then he took off."
"What?" asked Muri.
"The military is supposed to be bombing the University to kill off the remaining zombies," Lisa explained.
Juan shook his head. "But look at all these people still here. And look over there! People are fighting for food."
"So, that's where it went," said Lisa. "Another group must have cleared out the University."
Solomon went over to check on the fire team who were putting out the flames in the maintenance shed.
"Good thing this is far away from other buildings," a random girl commented.
Solomon walked back to his group. "Good news, the fire is almost out. But I think it's time we left."
"Where are you going?" asked Muri.
"Away from those planes," said Eduardo, heading back to the trees.
Several people in the group followed them, thinking that was likely the best advice. Others in the courtyard were oblivious. A few people from the fire service followed after them when Eduardo yelled that the planes were going to drop bombs.
"Oh oh," said Solomon, pointing to the right of them. "We have another problem."
"Oh shit!" yelled Lisa.
A large hoard of zombies was coming right for them, heading in the direction of where the explosion had occurred.
