When your writing the description on your book you are an advert for it basically. When you see adverts they want to promote their business and make you want to buy from them.

Promote your book. Make a description that makes people want to read from it. You can also magpie a lot from other people books and see what their description is like to help you structure yours.

Mama's boy description:

It's classification day for Riley. he is finally 18 but when he gets his results things turn for the worst quickly when he has to stay with his brother until he gets assigned a Caregiver.

Emily is 20 and has been a Mommy without a little for 2 years, she longs for a baby to care for and when she gets assigned to Riley everything changes.

It doesn't say exactly what happens In the whole book but it has:

Names of the characters
Initial ages

But it also shows:

tension with Riley and his brother
Emily's desire to be a mother
Implying Riley doesn't want to be a little at the beginning
Implying Emily and Riley are meant to be together (as little and cg)

All of those extra things add mystery to the book. "Why doesn't he like his brother" "who is his brother" "why do things turn for the worse" "do Riley and Emily end up together" "does Emily get to be a mother"

All those questions make you want to read. If you don't leave unanswered questions people will stop reading because people like the suspense of what might happen next.

When you write your story description what do you want your readers to think about.
