Jimin stood outside Jungkook’s family home, his hands nervously clutching the small bouquet he had brought as a gift. The large, elegant house loomed in front of him, and he could feel the weight of the moment settling in his chest. Meeting Jungkook’s family was a big step—one he hadn’t entirely prepared himself for. But here he was, about to step into Jungkook’s world.
He glanced over at Jungkook, who was smiling down at him, his hand gently squeezing Jimin’s in reassurance.
“Are you sure they’re okay with me?” Jimin asked, his voice betraying the nerves he had tried to keep in check. “I mean, what if they don’t like me?”
Jungkook chuckled softly, shaking his head. “Jimin, they’re going to love you. I’ve already told them all about you, and they’re excited to meet you. Trust me.”
Jimin bit his lip, still unsure. “I just… I’ve never done this before. Meeting the parents of the CEO of a huge company is kind of… intimidating.”
Jungkook’s smile softened, and he reached up to brush a strand of hair from Jimin’s face. “You don’t have to worry about any of that. You’re not here to impress them with who you are on paper. Just be yourself. That’s who they want to meet—the person who’s made their son so happy.”
Jimin nodded, trying to breathe through his anxiety. “Okay. I’ll try.”
With one last reassuring smile, Jungkook led Jimin toward the door. The moment they stepped inside, Jimin was enveloped in warmth—both from the cozy, inviting atmosphere of the house and the welcoming smiles of Jungkook’s parents.
“Mom, Dad,” Jungkook said with a grin, “this is Jimin.”
Jungkook’s mother, Mrs. Jeon, beamed as she approached, her arms wide open. “So this is the Jimin we’ve heard so much about! Come here, sweetheart.”
Before Jimin could even process her words, he was wrapped in a warm hug, the bouquet he had brought squished slightly between them. He blinked in surprise, but slowly relaxed into the embrace, feeling some of his nerves begin to melt away.
“It’s so lovely to meet you,” Jimin said, pulling back from the hug and offering her the slightly crumpled bouquet. “I, um, brought these for you.”
Mrs. Jeon’s eyes lit up as she accepted the flowers. “How thoughtful! Thank you, dear. They’re beautiful.”
Jungkook’s father, Mr. Jeon, approached next, offering Jimin a warm handshake. “Welcome to our home, Jimin. We’re glad you could join us today.”
Jimin smiled shyly, shaking his hand. “Thank you for having me.”
They were soon ushered into the living room, where the conversation flowed easily. Much to Jimin’s relief, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Jungkook’s parents were warm and kind, asking Jimin questions about his flower shop, his interests, and how he and Jungkook met. Every time Jimin started to feel nervous, Jungkook would give his hand a gentle squeeze, grounding him in the moment.
At one point, Mrs. Jeon turned to Jungkook with a teasing smile. “You didn’t tell us how charming Jimin is, Jungkook. I can see why you’ve been so smitten.”
Jimin blushed at the compliment, ducking his head slightly, while Jungkook just laughed. “I didn’t want to give away all the details. I had to leave some surprises for you.”
As the afternoon went on, Jimin found himself relaxing more and more. Jungkook’s family was nothing like he had feared—they were genuine and kind, treating him like he was already a part of their lives. By the time dinner rolled around, Jimin felt like he was talking with old friends rather than meeting his boyfriend’s parents for the first time.
When the meal was over, they all moved back to the living room for coffee, and it was then that Mr. Jeon leaned forward, looking at Jimin thoughtfully.
“Jimin,” he said, his voice warm but serious, “I just want you to know how happy we are to see Jungkook so… at peace. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen him this content, and it’s clear that you’re the reason for that.”
Jimin blinked, his heart swelling at the words. “I’m really lucky to have him,” he said quietly. “He means the world to me.”
Mr. Jeon nodded, his expression softening. “And you mean a lot to him. As long as you’re good to each other, you’ll always have our support.”
Jungkook’s mother chimed in, her smile bright. “You’re already a part of our family, Jimin. We couldn’t be happier that Jungkook has found someone who makes him so happy.”
Jimin’s chest tightened with emotion as he looked at Jungkook, who was beaming at him with pure affection. It was overwhelming in the best way, and Jimin couldn’t help but smile back, feeling a sense of belonging that he hadn’t expected.
“Thank you,” Jimin said softly, his voice thick with gratitude. “I’m really happy to be here.”
Jungkook’s arm slipped around Jimin’s shoulders, pulling him closer as he kissed the top of his head. “I told you they’d love you.”
Jimin laughed, his nerves from earlier completely gone. “I guess you were right.”
As the evening came to an end, and Jimin and Jungkook prepared to leave, Mrs. Jeon gave Jimin one last hug, her eyes filled with warmth.
“You come back anytime, okay?” she said. “You’re always welcome here.”
“I will,” Jimin promised, feeling his heart swell with affection for Jungkook’s family.
As they walked to the car, hand in hand, Jimin glanced up at Jungkook, his heart full. “That went way better than I expected.”
Jungkook grinned, squeezing Jimin’s hand. “I told you there was nothing to worry about. They already love you.”
Jimin smiled, leaning his head on Jungkook’s shoulder as they walked. “I guess this means I’m stuck with you now, huh?”
Jungkook chuckled, pulling Jimin closer. “You better believe it.”
And as they drove away from the Jeon family home, Jimin couldn’t help but feel that he had not only gained Jungkook as a boyfriend but had also been welcomed into a new family—one that already accepted and approved of the love they shared.
