The headlines seemed relentless, each new article a fresh wound in Jungkook’s heart. His name was now synonymous with his new girlfriend, Ara, and the media was in a frenzy, painting a picture of a budding romance that felt anything but real. Jungkook found himself drowning in the noise, the flashing images of him and Ara at events and meetings plastered across every news outlet.

He knew Ara liked him; her intentions were clear. She wanted more than just a professional relationship, but Jungkook’s heart remained firmly anchored to Jimin. The idea of moving on with anyone else felt like a betrayal to the love they once shared. To him, Ara was a competent business partner, a valuable asset in the corporate world, but nothing more.

Despite his protests, his parents continued to prod him about Ara, their hopeful nudges a constant reminder of their expectations. “You should consider settling down, Jungkook,” his mother would say, her voice filled with concern and love. “Ara is a good girl. You’d make a lovely couple.”

“Mom, it’s not like that,” he would reply, feeling the weight of his truth. “She’s just a colleague.”

But the more he insisted, the more they pushed, wanting to see their son happy, wanting him to find love again. It frustrated Jungkook to no end; how could he explain that his heart was still entangled with his ex-husband, the one he could never quite forget?

Meanwhile, Jimin was doing his best to avoid the chaos surrounding Jungkook’s life. He had become a master of distraction, immersing himself in the daily operations of his flower shop, Blossom Dream. Each bouquet he crafted, each arrangement he delivered, was a small reprieve from the pain of his reality. He refused to let the media frenzy touch him; he wanted to pretend that Jungkook wasn’t moving on, that the heart-wrenching images didn’t exist.

But avoidance came with its own set of challenges. Friends and family would bring up Jungkook in passing, often eliciting a sharp pang in Jimin’s chest. He would smile and change the subject, a practiced art of denial. “Let’s talk about the new shipment of flowers,” he’d say, forcing the conversation away from the man who still occupied so much space in his heart.

Yet, in stark contrast, Jungkook couldn’t help but delve into Jimin’s world. He found himself obsessively searching for any mention of Jimin online. He read every article that featured him, scrolling through photos of Jimin smiling with customers, the way his eyes sparkled when he arranged flowers. It was a bittersweet pleasure, a mix of pride and heartbreak.

“Look at him,” Jungkook whispered to himself, staring at a picture of Jimin laughing with a child who had just received a bouquet. “He looks so happy.” But that happiness was a stark reminder of what he had lost.

As the days turned into weeks, the gulf between them widened. Jimin avoided the news, while Jungkook became increasingly enmeshed in it. Both men were navigating their new realities, trying to find a way forward without each other, but neither could shake the feeling that something was fundamentally broken within them.

Jungkook’s heart ached with unspoken words, while Jimin’s eyes brimmed with tears unshed. In their separate worlds, they grappled with the remnants of a love that felt too significant to forget, yet too painful to rekindle. The threads of their lives remained entangled, but the fabric of their relationship had been irrevocably torn.
