The generator room had been separated into 2 sections, the mercenaries took one of the sub rooms, specifically the one on the right when first entering, and team RWBY took another specifically, the one straight ahead of the main room. The last one left untouched was the initial room when stepping into the generator room.

There were no doors separating the sub rooms, only a rectangular hole where a door should be. The mercenaries for security laid tripwire rigged grenades, running the length of the tunnel behind and ahead of them. For the extended walkway to the generator room, they had placed caltrops sprinkled on the ground so the sound of someone or thing stepping on one or a grenade going off would surely wake everyone up.

To make sure, the mercenaries and team RWBY agreed to sleep on rotations. At least one person of each group was to be awake for 2 hours while the rest slept. Dinner was some packed msg and egg fried rice from the school for team RWBY while the mercenaries had some non perishables of the canned and MRE variety.

Down in the underground, there was no telling when exactly the sun sat nor the ability to see the stars and moon. The only illumination was glowsticks of which both team RWBY and the mercenaries had brought plenty of and a fire in each sub room lit by salvaging wood from the abandoned makeshift structures litering the train platform.

At least Zwei was having the time of his life getting many pets from both groups except Blake because she was obviously a cat faunus. He even got some tarker dried meat from Moron before literally just falling asleep in Ruby's backpack.

Hours passed, and there was dead silence other than from the generator room itself. People shuffling in their sleeping bags, snoring, and waking up to take guard. There was some talking between everyone, the girls got to discuss their reasons why they wanted to become huntsmen amongst each othe rof course. They had no clue what their instructors were discussing since that weird language they had heard a lot when with them always ame up between Akula and Moron. When it was Ruby's turn at around 4am, she was awoken by a visibly tired Blake shaking her shoulder.

"Ruby...it's your turn..." Her voice was soft, too tired to raise it and needing to keep it down low so as to not awake the others sleeping nearby.

Ruby rubs her eyes, clearing them of moring stars, fighting the urge to just ignore her teammate's words and commit to the sleep requiring every inch of her willpower.

She finds the strength to sit up right then, and her hands feel around on the floor for her weapon. Thankfully, they had placed a tarp over the floor otherwise her hands would be coloured black with soot as if she had been working all day in a coal mine. With a swift motion, she holds onto the zipper and unzips the sleeping bag around her, getting up, ready to keep watch now. Blake took her spot that everyone had agreed to sleep in and instantaneously fell asleep from the exhaustion.

She grasps Crescent Rose close to her back, pulling the strap around her shoulder and wast. Now Ruby was standing before all her sleeping teammates plus Zwei taking a quick glance at them all before taking a few steps into the main middle room that was unoccupied. She could hear her instructors in the other room over, still talking, specifically Texas and Floridaman, but because of her goggy sleep inerted state, she couldn't make out whose voice was who's.

"Yeah, I remember, when they first made me commander of the task force, I refused to have command over her."

"I heard. First USEC task force to have 2 commanding officers. Inspiration for the Goons. Say what happened to the guy that commanded Slaughterhouse beforehand?"

"Guts? He got reassigned to Diamond Citadel out of the country. Last I checked, he was at London headquarters."
