It was official. The 40th annual Vytal festival had begun for real, and people from all the 4 major huntsmen academies throughout remnant were battling it out in the spectacle that was Amity Colosseum an marvel of technology it was that the people of remnant got a mobile floating arena that had a capacity of 30,000 people plus supporting amenities to cross continents every year. Not to mention the arena part of the Colosseum being able to switch up different terrains and biomes at random, even having the the ability to to different biome in one half and another half or in quadrants.
Right now, regular classes for Beacon Students were reduced, and what remaining classes were absolutely filled to capacity as students from other academies were permitted to join in a sort of one-way exchange program.
All 5 Tarkov people had to accommodate these new people, resulting in more dry lessons involving fewer demonstrations and more traditional whiteboard teaching.
But the rest of the day, they got to watch the tournament or enjoy all the seasonal food that arrived with the festival, which also meant more alcohol. Obviously, they didn't watch every single fight, just the major tournament one since the side matches and friendlies didn't really mean anything and were more boring since nobody went all out to win.
Right now, it was all 4 mercernaries watching the battle between Penny and Ciel versus CRDL. Despite CRDL being a Beacon team, a team that the mercernaries have had to deal with to their dismay, all 4 men were cheering the Atlesians on since CRDL were assholes for no reason most of the time. Both to them and other students, especially the faunus students.
"So uh, how did your gear situation get sorted out?" Floridaman turned over to Texas and asked, who was munching on a chilli dog while watching the fight unfold.
"Mmph- yeah, yeah. Mulberry showed me how to make stuff in the armoury. It's like in star trek you just use machines, mm." Texas with his mouth full of munched up chilli dog answered, not even bothering to stop chewing.
"You think that penny girl is on the retard spectrum?" Moron leaned in to speak in Floridaman's ear.
"What the fuck?! Where the hell did that come from?!" Floridaman physically reeled away shocked at such a out of pocket statement.
"Hey, you saw how she acted at the docks, remember?"
"Just shut the fuck up and watch the fight."
As the fight progressed on, a different fight was occurring in Ozpin's office, a battle with words instead. All members of his circle had met up to discuss some pertinent matters that were on hand at the moment. Particularly the nomination of a new fall maiden, the current maiden Amber was attacked and got half her powers yanked from her. Now she sits in something like a coma unable to move or react permanently sedated to keep herself stable so the powers don't go to some random person when she dies or worse whoever attacked her.
In his mind, Ozpin already knew who would be the nominee for this power, but he was waiting for the other members' responses to see if there was anyone else they wanted to nominate. Instead, it was mostly Qrow complaining about Ironwood doubting his intentions. This was throwing off the other thing he wanted to do, Ozpin wished to add more members into his circle, particularly 4 members that he knows that would be immensely helpful in the battle against Salem, his eternal battle that has been waging from incarnation to incarnation.
"Fuck you Ironwood! I don't want to hear no more about bringing more military in." Qrow bellowed getting up close and personal with the general. In response, Jame Ironwood gave him an awkward smile.
"That's enough, Qrow. We're not here for your personal squabbles. I suggest you calm down before you start anything." Ozpin intervened from behind his desk, his words speaking louder than any physical action. Reluctantly, Qrow stepped back, balling up his fists and snapping his eyes away from Ironwood to the ground bellow.
