Chapter 43.2: What's So Civil 'Bout War Anyway?

Despite the events of the last match, hopes were high that the rest of the festival would run smoothly until the end. Still many wished for Yang Xiao Long to be judged and pay for a crime. At least she was under suspension and investigation by both the Atlesian Military and VPD, but things look to be grim for the verdict as even Ironwood, who was clearly on team RWBY's side couldn't deny the evidence. Still, those who knew Yang personally weren't gonna give up hope just like that as they suspected something else. Maybe a mind control or illusion semblance was at play here...

As the randomisation process begins, everyone of the Tarkov originals takes a seat in Amity Colosseum all together, arriving just in time to watch the fight begin. This would be Katya's first time joining, too, since she had been watching the matches happen on the television as opposed to going in person. Each of the mercenaries didn't bring any of their heavy gear along despite the situation on hand with the whole enemy making their move thing. Instead, all had a pistol and some spare ammo plus knives except for Texas, who carried his 2 trusty FN 5-7 and Colt Python plus M2 Sword.

As usual, with Vytal Festival fights everyone would be watching, all eyes from across the world would be glued to their screens. Ozpin would be watching from his office while Ironwood situated himself within the announcers booth. Even match betting was through the roof after the last match was a flunk with people placing bets on who would be the winner.

"So... how you doing old friend? It has been a while since we talked." Moron settled into his seat as he asked Katya.

"What can I say...helping Glynda was...interesting. I show them stuff I learnt in the army and BEAR, and in return, I get half the guys checking me out." Katya shook her head and sighed after explaining.

"Just like BEAR in the old days...what did you even show them? Disassembling guns with your feet?" Moron chuckled.

"Well I did the spetsnaz kick the magazine and cock the gun trick you know? Also kicked a lot of asses in practical training."

As the 2 continued to converse the round announcers of Beacon professors Oobleck and Port announcers, the beginning of the round introducing both contestants hyping up the crowd like it's a WWE wrestling match between John Cena and Dwane the rock Johnson. Despite all eyes being on the contestants in the middle of the colosseum, Katya, being observant, quickly had her eyes trail down to a girl with dark skin and emerald hair...

Her eyes narrow on her, and she stops talking to Moron or giving short 1 word answers who is confused about why she was doing this all of a sudden.

"Hey! Earth to Katya!" Moron snaps his fingers in front of her face, trying to break her free of whatever was keeping her in a trance.

"You found some twinks you want to fuck again or what?!?!"

"I thought she left..." Katya pointed her finger at Emerald sitting amongst the crowd as Moron raises his eyebrow and trails her finger to whatever it was pointing at.

"What the...Texas, Floridaman, Akula! Look at this shit I thought she left." Moron whispered to the others, only catching their attention.

"Shit...Katya and Moron you think you can go after her?" Texas asks right as Katya and Moron were already getting up from their seats and leaving.

"Yeah, we'll go after her. I think something fucked might be going on here..." Katya said while undoing the latch on her holster containing a PL-15 she had acquired from earth.

The 2 Russians quickly made their way out of the arena and to the sides of the colosseum pistols drawn. While doing so, both announcers announce the start of the match, meaning hoth Penny and Pyrrha have engaged in combat. In the distance, the very evident sound of gunshots having fighting could be heard. Both pick up the speed now sprinting as something is clearly going down, and time was of the essence. As the curve of the arena gives sight to what was going on, they see Ruby Rose desperately fighting a completely fine Mercury Black.
