the airport in miami was buzzing, people hustling to catch their flights, dragging suitcases behind them as star and ddot, along with dudeylo, dd, boogz, and dotty, sat near gate c32.

ddot had just wrapped up his show the night before, and everyone was still riding the high of it, everyone except star, who was exhausted. she had stayed up late after the concert, not just from the excitement but from hanging out with the guys, and now, as they waited for their flight back to new york, she could feel sleep pulling at her heavy eyelids.

ddot, on the other hand, was wide awake. he was sitting next to her, deep in conversation with dudeylo and dd, laughing and cracking jokes, not really paying attention to her. star leaned her head against ddot's shoulder, feeling the tiredness creeping in, but also a slight pang of annoyance. she wasn't tryna be that girl, but still, the least he could do was check on her, right?

she sighed, adjusting herself against his shoulder, not saying anything but hoping he'd catch on. he didn't. instead, he kept laughing with the guys, talking about the show and making plans for their next linkup in new york.

"yo, i can't believe how lit miami was last night," dd said, his voice loud and full of energy. "we needa come back real soon."

"facts, bro. miami always show love," ddot agreed, dapping him up. he looked over at dudeylo, who was scrolling through his phone. "and dudeylo was really tryna pull some miami girls, huh?"

everyone laughed, but star just sat there, eyes half-open, leaning into ddot's side, wishing they'd hurry up and board the plane already. she was too tired to argue, too tired to even say anything. she just wanted to get on that flight, go home, and sleep.

finally, the boarding call came, and everyone grabbed their stuff. star was so ready to just crash on the plane, but when they got to their seats, ddot dropped his bag in the overhead compartment and slid into the row next to dd without even looking at her. star blinked in disbelief for a second, watching as he settled into his seat, laughing about something with dd.

"really?" she muttered under her breath, standing there in the aisle with her carry-on in hand.

boogz looked at her, clearly noticing her irritation, and shrugged. "you can sit next to me, star. i won't bite."

star rolled her eyes but didn't have the energy to argue. "bet," she said, sliding into the seat beside boogz. she couldn't believe ddot just ditched her like that, but she was too tired to make it a thing right now. she crossed her arms, leaned her head back, and closed her eyes, blocking out the sounds of the plane and ddot's laughter a few rows away.

by the time they landed in new york, star was wide awake—and annoyed. the whole flight, ddot hadn't come over once to check on her, didn't even send a text. nothing. so when they got off the plane, star was walking a few steps ahead of everyone, not really caring to wait for them.

ddot, still with the guys, noticed the distance right away. he nudged dudeylo and nodded in her direction. "yo, what's up with star? why she speedwalkin'?"

"bro, you dumb?" dudeylo asked, glancing at him like it was obvious. "you ain't sit next to her. she's mad at you."

ddot frowned, watching her ahead of them, and it clicked. "damn," he mumbled, realizing how much he'd messed up.

outside the airport, the sky had turned dark and ominous, and before anyone could make a move to the car, it started pouring rain. star groaned, glancing up at the sky as she put her hands over her head, already knowing her edges were about to get ruined.

"perfect," she muttered, rolling her eyes.

before she could take another step, though, she felt ddot rushing up beside her. he didn't say anything at first, just took off his hoodie and threw it over her head, pulling the hood up to shield her from the rain. his arm draped around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him as they walked.

"yo, i'm sorry," he mumbled, his voice low.

star looked up at him, already knowing what he was apologizing for, but still too annoyed to say anything. "you sorry now?" she muttered, her voice tight.

ddot sighed, pulling her even closer under his arm as the rain poured down harder. "i know i messed up. i wasn't thinkin'. shoulda sat next to you."

star huffed, her resolve already starting to crumble, especially with him holding her like that. "you was out here playin' with the guys like i ain't exist."

"nah, it wasn't like that. i was just caught up in the moment," he explained, leaning down to kiss her cheek. "but you know i gotchu. always."

star didn't say anything for a moment, still staring ahead, but her annoyance was fading. it was hard to stay mad at him when he was being this sweet. finally, she sighed, leaning her head against his chest as they walked. "you better make it up to me."

ddot smirked, nodding. "oh, i will, don't even worry 'bout that."

they finally made it to the car, drenched but in better spirits. the rest of the crew caught up behind them, joking around as they all piled into the car. star stayed close to ddot, his arm never leaving her as they rode back home.

once they got back to their apartment, star was already feeling better. they kicked off their shoes, leaving their bags at the door as ddot grabbed her hand, pulling her toward the bedroom.

"come on, let me make it up to you," he said, a playful smirk on his face.

star couldn't help but laugh, rolling her eyes but following him. "you got a plan?"

"always," ddot said, pulling her onto the bed with him. they both collapsed onto the mattress, star snuggling into his side as he draped an arm around her.

they laid there in the quiet for a while, just cuddling as the sound of the rain continued to tap against the windows. star's annoyance from earlier had completely faded, replaced by the warmth of being wrapped up in ddot's arms.

"you really gon' do me like that again?" she teased, looking up at him.

ddot shook his head, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "nah, never again. i learned my lesson."

star smiled, cuddling up even closer to him. "you better."

they spent the rest of the night in bed, just enjoying each other's company. ddot had made it up to her, and by the time they fell asleep, star had completely forgiven him.
