"look at that hot dog stand!" ddot exclaimed, his eyes widening at the sight. "i have to have one!"
star raised an eyebrow, her concern already brewing. "you really think you should eat before we go on the rides?" she asked, biting her lip.
"baby, relax, i'll be fine," ddot shrugged confidently, flashing her a charming smile.
"i don't think it's a good idea..." star warned, trying to keep her voice steady.
"star trust imma be good" ddot insisted
"aight, but i warned you," she said, holding her hands up in mock surrender as they made their way to the food stand.
after ddot devoured his hot dog in record time, they felt a surge of energy that propelled them toward the rides. "let's hit the rollercoasters!" star shouted, excitement bubbling in her voice.
they joined the line for the first rollercoaster, the anticipation thick in the air. as they waited, star noticed ddot's face shift slightly, a hint of discomfort crossing his features. "you good?" she asked, concern creeping into her voice.
"yeah, yeah, i'm fine," he insisted, waving her off with a casual grin. "just a little nervous, that's all."
star wasn't convinced but chose to trust him, pushing her worries aside as they climbed into the rollercoaster. the ride jerked to life, and star screamed with joy as they shot forward, her arms flying up in exhilaration. but ddot was not sharing her enthusiasm; his grip on the safety bar tightened, his face paling as they soared through loops and drops.
when the ride finally came to a halt, they stumbled out, hand in hand, star buzzing with excitement. "look at our picture!" she squealed, pointing to the captured moment in the photo booth. her arms were raised high, a look of pure joy on her face, while ddot looked like he might hurl at any moment.
"i gotta frame this," star laughed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"don't you dare," ddot said, shaking his head, but a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
"you know i will foe" she teased, turning to the booth to print the photo. but just as she started to walk away, ddot suddenly leaned over a nearby trash bin, heaving and throwing up.
"d you good?"star exclaimed, rushing back to his side, her expression shifting from laughter to concern. she rubbed his back gently, trying to comfort him as he groaned, the color drained from his face.
"i told you not to eat, bro, see?" star scolded lightly, handing him a tissue.
"i thought i could stomach it..." ddot admitted, his voice weak, as he rubbed his mouth with the tissue
"well, clearly, you can't," she said, shaking her head with a half-smile. "i'm hungry though, and i think i'm finna eat now since i was the sensible one"
ddot rolled his eyes playfully "c'mon then," ddot smirked, his arm casually draping around her shoulders as they strolled toward a cheesy fries stand. star's eyes lit up as she ordered a large plate of cheesy fries and a refreshing mango drink, savoring each bite as she indulged.
"mhm that's it right dere" she declared, her face lighting up as she dug into the gooey, cheesy goodness.
"it's almost like you're celebrating my misfortune," ddot joked, his voice still a bit shaky but lightening up.
"i'm just trying to eat my fries in peace while you recover," she teased back, laughter dancing in her eyes.
after finishing her snack, they decided to end the night with one last ride—the ferris wheel. as they climbed aboard and settled into their seat, ddot's arm wrapped around star's waist, pulling her close.
"this is nice," she said, looking out over the fairgrounds as they slowly ascended. the view was breathtaking—the lights twinkling like stars against the dark sky.
"it really is," ddot agreed, his gaze shifting to star. he leaned in closer, his lips brushing against hers as they shared a soft, tender kiss, the world around them fading away.
star smiled against his lips, her heart racing with happiness. "i'm glad we came," she whispered, resting her head on his shoulder as the ferris wheel continued its gentle rotation.
"me too," ddot replied, his arm tightening around her, contentment radiating between them as they watched the fair light up below, their laughter mixing with the sounds of joy surrounding them.
