Felix POV:
As I stepped into the amusement park, excitement buzzed in the air. The sounds of laughter, screams, and the scent of popcorn filled my senses. It felt like the perfect escape for our group. But as I glanced at Hyunjin beside me, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
"Let's hit that ride first!" I said, trying to channel the thrill of the park into my voice. I pointed to the towering roller coaster, but when I looked at Hyunjin, I saw a flicker of something else in his eyes—something I couldn't quite place.
"Are you feeling okay?" Wooyoung asked, catching my thoughts. I was relieved I wasn't the only one who noticed Hyunjin's unease.
"Yeah, I'm fine!" Hyunjin replied too quickly, and I felt a pang of concern. There was an edge to his tone that I didn't like.
As we waited in line, the others were laughing and joking around, but Hyunjin seemed distant. He wasn't as engaged as he usually was, and I couldn't help but notice the way he shifted uncomfortably, his hand occasionally brushing over his stomach as if he were trying to hide something.
"Hyunjin, seriously," I said quietly when I got the chance. "If something's bothering you, you can talk to us."
He shot me a look that was both defensive and vulnerable, and I felt my heart ache for him. "I know, I'm sorry. It's just... everything feels a little weird right now."
I wanted to reach out, to pull him close and tell him that he didn't have to go through whatever this was alone. But before I could say anything more, we boarded the roller coaster, the thrill of the ride momentarily distracting us.
As we screamed and laughed, I couldn't shake the feeling that Hyunjin was holding something back. His usual laughter felt forced, and when Mingi teased him, he snapped more than I expected. It was a stark contrast to the easygoing nature I knew him for.
After the ride, I watched him lean against a railing, his expression distant. I approached him, my heart racing with worry. "Hyunjin, seriously," I said softly, trying to keep my voice steady. "I can tell something's up. If you need time or space, I get it, but please don't shut us out."
His gaze met mine, and I saw a flicker of something—fear, maybe? "I just need to figure things out," he admitted, and my heart swelled at his honesty. I wanted to tell him that whatever it was, he didn't have to face it alone.
"I'll be right here, okay?" I promised, hoping he felt the sincerity in my words.
As we rejoined the others, I couldn't shake the worry gnawing at my gut. I knew Hyunjin was struggling, and I wished I could just pull him into my arms and make everything better. But for now, I'd give him the space he needed while remaining a steadfast presence in his life.
With the sounds of joy around us, I squeezed his hand lightly, hoping to remind him that he wasn't alone in this. We were a team, and I was determined to help him find his way through whatever was weighing on his heart.
✨The next day✨
The sound of water cascading filled the small bathroom as Hyunjin stood under the shower, letting the warmth wash over him. His thoughts raced, swirling with confusion and unease. He tried to push away the changes he had been feeling, but every drop of water seemed to amplify the uncertainty swirling in his mind.
After a long shower, he turned off the faucet and stepped out, wrapping a towel around his waist. The steam lingered in the air, and as he moved to the mirror, he wiped away the condensation with a quick swipe of his hand.
