Felix and Yongjin quietly entered the room, the soft light filtering through the curtains casting a gentle glow over Hyunjin's peaceful face. The sight of his husband resting, framed by the sunlight, made Felix's heart swell with love and admiration.
Yongjin tiptoed to the bed, climbing up and settling beside Hyunjin with utmost care. He looked at his mother, eyes wide in awe. "Mommy is very pretty, right, Daddy?" he whispered, his voice barely above a hush.
"Yeah. He is. Very pretty," Felix agreed, his gaze softening as he took in Hyunjin's serene expression, the way his hair fell lightly over his forehead and those delicate features that Felix had fallen in love with from the very first moment.
Yongjin leaned closer, his little finger brushing against Hyunjin's long eyelashes. "Mommy has pretty eyelashes," he observed, a look of wonder in his eyes.
Felix chuckled quietly, leaning down to place a gentle kiss on Hyunjin's forehead. "He really does. Just like a fairy tale prince," he said, glancing at Yongjin with a smile. "You know, when you grow up, you can tell everyone how pretty your mommy is."
Yongjin giggled, clearly delighted by the idea. "And I can tell them he makes the best pancakes!"
"Absolutely," Felix laughed softly, watching as Yongjin continued to admire Hyunjin, his small fingers brushing over his mother's lashes with a sense of reverence.
"Do you think Mommy will wake up soon?" Yongjin asked, a hint of worry creeping into his voice.
Felix nodded, his heart aching with affection. "He will, buddy. He just needs a little more rest to feel better. We brought him a surprise, remember?"
Yongjin's eyes sparkled with excitement. "The flowers! Can we wake him up, Daddy?"
"Let's give him a few more minutes, okay? We can sit here and keep him company," Felix suggested, settling beside Yongjin on the bed. He tucked an arm around his son, feeling grateful for this small family moment.
They sat in comfortable silence, Yongjin occasionally stealing glances at Hyunjin, his expression a mix of admiration and concern. Felix couldn't help but smile, feeling the love radiating between them.
After a few moments, Hyunjin stirred slightly, his eyelids fluttering open. When he saw the two of them beside him, a soft smile spread across his face. "What are my two favorite people doing here?" he murmured, his voice thick with sleep.
"Mommy!" Yongjin squealed, bouncing on the bed with joy. "We brought you flowers!"
Hyunjin chuckled, sitting up a little and rubbing his eyes. "Flowers? For me?"
Felix nodded, reaching over to help Yongjin present the small bouquet. "Yongjin picked them just for you. He wanted to make you feel better."
Hyunjin's expression softened as he took the flowers, his eyes glistening with emotion. "These are beautiful. Thank you, my little prince." He pulled Yongjin into a gentle hug, which made the boy squeal with delight.
"Mommy, are you feeling better?" Yongjin asked, his tone earnest.
"I will be, especially with your love and these lovely flowers," Hyunjin replied, planting a kiss on Yongjin's forehead. "You both are my sunshine."
Felix watched as Hyunjin's warmth enveloped their son, feeling a rush of gratitude for their little family. "And we're going to make sure you're back on your feet in no time," he said, joining in the hug, feeling the weight of love and care fill the room.
"Let's have a pancake party once I'm better, okay?" Hyunjin suggested, his eyes sparkling as he looked at them both.
"Yes! With whipped cream!" Yongjin exclaimed, clapping his hands together.
