"How do you want me to call you, Shizu-san?"

The voice drifted to me, soft yet so familiar, echoing from somewhere just out of sight. I knew that voice... but it felt distant, like it belonged to a memory I couldn't fully grasp.

"Shizu is fine, slime-san," I replied, my voice steady but strange in my own ears.

It sounded lighter, as if the words were being carried on the wind.

"Shizu is a very beautiful name," he said, his face breaking into a bright, radiant smile that lit up the space around him.

His warmth reached me, though everything else seemed to blur and fade.

"Thank you. That's why... don't call me Shizue," I responded, the name lingering on my tongue like a forgotten secret.

He smiled again, but this time he turned away.

The world shifted around us, and I watched as Rimuru-san walked towards a towering heavenly gate, its glow ethereal and inviting.

It seemed to stretch beyond the sky itself.

I tried to follow, my feet carrying me toward him without hesitation.

But as soon as my hand touched the surface of the gate, it dissolved—no, it melted—like smoke in the air, slipping through my fingers, leaving nothing behind but a fading whisper.

And as Rimuru-san vanished beyond that celestial gate, it was as if the world itself fell into a boundless abyss. A cold, eternal darkness swept in, stealing the warmth from my very soul, leaving nothing but an endless void where light once lingered.

Panic seized me, and the flame that once burned in my heart flickered out. In its place, a black, ominous fire crept toward me, dark and suffocating.

"You'll help me get my revenge..!" a voice echoed from within the pitch black flame.

My eyes suddenly opened. When I looked at my surrounding I saw Tomei still sound asleep.

What was that, dream..?

This took place after the declaration of the New Age of Demon Lords.

Guy and his maids had prepared a delicious banquet.

Delicious!

I thought to myself as I took a spoonful of one of the exquisite dishes.

I had to admit, some of these recipes didn't exist in the original timeline. There was much to analyze, and perhaps I could add a few of these to Tempest's national treasures.

After we had finished eating, for some reason, the council hadn't adjourned.

Then, Guy spoke.

"I know we've addressed almost everything, but there's one thing left..."

When he said that, Guy pointed directly at me.

A dense spatial barrier was suddenly cast, separating the Demon Lords from our subordinates. It was clear Guy didn't want Shion and the others hearing what was about to be discussed.

"Rimuru, don't you think it's time you explain things... thoroughly?"

I knew exactly what he meant. With a sigh, I realized there was no avoiding this.

"You want details about Yuuki, right?" I asked.

"I'm glad you're being cooperative," Guy said, his eyes narrowing, "but that's not all. I want to know about you. Your origins. What made you so strong? You fought Milim and even overpowered her with brute force—something I find difficult to believe. That kind of power needs an explanation, don't you think?"
