The adventurers who finally arrived at the Great Jura Forest were Ellen, Gido, Kaval, and Shizu.

With monster activity worsening, they had been tasked with investigating the situation in the Great Jura Forest. With no safe roads in place, security fees for merchants were rising, forcing them to travel by foot, which led to their current predicament.

Kaval, Ellen, and Gido's faces clearly reflected their exhaustion, surprisingly enough, Shizu-san's expression conveyed the same weariness.

To break the ice, I introduced myself.

"I'm Rimuru, the slime! I'm not a bad slime!"

As soon as I said that, Shizu-san let out a slight chuckle, recognizing the phrase.

"Pft."

This unexpected reaction caught the attention of Ellen and the others, who exchanged curious glances.

"Shizu-san???" Ellen asked, bewildered.

What's wrong with these three? I know they are prone to danger, but they seem excessively fatigued.

"Are you injured anywhere?" I asked, concerned.

"Um, can we even call it mental fatigue? We were chased by Giant Ants for three days straight!"

Kaval explained, exasperation evident in his voice.

"Just when we thought we could relax and think positively, we got attacked again, lost our luggage, and to top it all off, our stomachs are empty."

What an unfortunate situation!

No wonder even Shizu-san looked downcast.

While it's not that the three of them were directly at fault, I couldn't help but think they might share some of the blame.

"Well, it can't be helped," I said, trying to lighten the mood.

"I can treat you to a simple meal."

"Erm? Uhm, Slime-san, do you live nearby?" Ellen asked, surprised.

"You can just call me Rimuru. Yeah, I moved here recently; we're currently building a city just behind that mountain." I pointed in the direction.

"Monsters building a city, huh?" Gido pondered the thought.

"Well, he doesn't seem like a bad slime to me," Kaval remarked.

That sounded a bit too sarcastic. Did they really not believe I was a slime? In that case, I morphed into my slime form to prove my validity.

"Whoa, you really are a slime?!" they exclaimed, astonished.

"Well, what did you expect?" I replied with a grin.

"I never thought a beautiful lady could be a slime!" Kaval added.

Not a lady, though. The form you just witnessed came from the girl standing right there.

Despite their clumsiness, these three were Rank B adventurers, specifically tasked with investigating the activities in the Great Jura Forest.

"Rather than lecturing here, why don't we accept the hospitality offered to us? This child is definitely trustworthy," Shizu-san suggested.

I couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable being considered a child by Shizu-san. It felt like I had been son-zoned.

Given that Shizu-san was over a century old, I supposed she treated everyone like a child. Reaching her level of maturity felt impossible.

[If that's the case, Master, who has traveled to the End of Space-Time, could be classified as timeless]
