Alex stepped into the warehouse, his heart pounding in his chest. The air inside felt heavy and oppressive, as if the very walls were closing in around him. Eerie whispers seemed to follow him, echoing off the shadowy corners.
Suddenly, the doors slammed shut behind him with a deafening thud.
Alex spun around, his pulse racing, but there was no one in sight. A chill ran down his spine.
"Emma?" he called out, his voice shaking with anxiety.
The whispers grew louder, swirling around him like a dark fog. His vision blurred for a moment, and when it cleared, he found himself standing in a dark corridor.
Flickering candles cast eerie shadows that danced along the walls, and at the end of the hall stood a figure.
Emma.
But something was wrong.
Her eyes seemed vacant, distant, as if she were trapped in a dream.
"Emma?" Alex approached cautiously, dread gnawing at him.
She didn't respond.
His heart sank. Was this really Emma, or just some twisted illusion?
He reached out, but Emma remained still, her gaze unsettling and unresponsive.
"What have they done to you?" Alex's mind raced with fear. How could he save her?
A faint whisper echoed through the corridor: "Welcome, Alex."
The voice sent shivers down his spine.
"Who are you?" Alex demanded, his voice trembling.
The whisper grew louder, curling around him like smoke, "You'll soon find out.
Suddenly, the corridor began to shift. The walls melted like wax, shadows twisting into grotesque forms that loomed menacingly.
Alex stumbled, disoriented, trying to regain his footing. "Emma, snap out of it! he pleaded, desperation lacing his words.
But she didn't respond.
The whispers intensified, taunting him: "Alex, you're getting closer."
Closer to what? The truth?
Frantically searching for an exit, Alex realized the warehouse doors were sealed shut behind him. Just then, footsteps echoed through the cavernous space.
A man and woman approached, their faces illuminated by flickering fluorescent lights.
"I'm Jonathan," the man said, flashing his badge. "Senior Police Officer. This is Ms. Selena, also with the police department."
Alex's wariness eased slightly, a glimmer of hope igniting within him. "How did you find me?"he asked, his voice hoarse.
"We've been tracking your movements," Ms. Selena replied. "Detective James briefed us on your case before... he vanished."
Jonathan's expression turned serious, the weight of the situation settling over them.
Alex's eyes narrowed in concern. "What?"
Both officers exchanged a glance but remained silent.
Jonathan continued, "We're here to help you, Alex. We believe you're in grave danger."
As they spoke, the warehouse seemed to grow darker, shadows twisting ominously around them.
"We need to get out of here,"Ms. Selena urged, her voice urgent.
