"Boys, get your asses home, now!"
My eyes snapped open, revealing a pool of white hair covering the face of the cute girl in my arms.
"Yes, sir" I mumbled, pressing the button on my neckpiece. With a low groan, i rolled out of the bed.
Oa're slipped out after me, her expression a soft mask of concern. "Everything alright?"
"Yea. My baby bro and i are just late for dinner" I said, trying to keep my voice light. But even as I spoke, I couldn't help but steal a glance at her. Her wavy hair was like calm clouds against her skin. My heart began to race as i leaned in, pressing a kiss to her soft lips. "Come on" I grinned, taking her hand, pulling her out of the hollow tree.
As we walked, I noticed her tilting her head back, her eyes drinking in the starry night sky.
"You know... my father came from a star"
"Which one?" Oa'res voice was a soft whisper, a question tinged with curiosity.
I pointed to a bright, distant speck. "That one"
"What's it like there?"
My blood boiled as i remembered the stories my dad told me. "Like hell. My dad said the humans killed their mother" I sighed, my voice barely above a breath.
Oa're stopped, her eyes widening slowly. "Will they do that here?"
My throat tightened. I cupped her face, my fingers tracing the delicate lines of her cheek. "My father won't let them. He fucked them up once, he'll do it again"
Her brows knitted together, "Phuu-uhh" she stretched out the word, trying to say it right.
She was cute, and innocent. I liked that about Oa're.
"I'll teach you tomorrow" I laughed, leaning in again, capturing her lips in a gentler, more tender kiss.
Once our feet hit the sand my hand instinctively reached out to take hers, but she pulled away.
Bro what? Did i fuck up? Was i kissing her too much?
So many questions raced through my mind until i seen Aonung and his bitch ass friends approaching us.
My blood ran cold. I wanted to wrap their tails around their necks.
Aonung began to circle us, the familiar smirk plastered across his face. "Oa're, you know i hate unloyal girls" he groaned, sarcasm dripping from his tone.
My blood ran cold. He tried to touch her, his hand reaching out. But before he could make contact, I instinctively stepped in front of Oa're, "Bro" I muttered through gritted teeth, shaking my head slowly.
"Oa're is to mate with me in four seasons" he laughed, backing away. "But here she is, hiding with you"
My heart hammered against my ribs. "What? baby what's he talking about?" I asked quietly, turning to Oa're, my voice rough with a rising panic.
She sighed, tears welling in her eyes. She looked away, so i grabbed her chin, forcing her to look into my eyes. "Oa're, what the fuck did he just say?" I asked again, except louder, ripping the words from my throat.
"I...Neteyam, i wanted to tell you" she choked out, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I was scared to"
"How long?" I rasped.
"About like..." Aonung chimed in, tapping his chin with a finger as he looked around. "Like two weeks now?"
My grip on Oa're loosened, my fingers falling away from her face. A wave of nausea washed over me, my heart shattering into a million tiny pieces.
She reached for me, a sob escaping her lips, but I stepped back, burning from her touch.
"Since you want to take my girl beyond the village" Aonung continued, not knowing about the pent up anger i had. "I took your brother beyond the reef"
My heart dropped. "Where did you take my brother?" I whispered, cocking my head to the side.
Instead of answering me he grabbed Oa're, showering her face with sloppy, forced kisses.
"Aonung! Stop being weird!" Oa're gagged, trying to push him away. "Get off!"
His friends erupted in a chorus of mocking laughter.
"Awe, look at the cute couple!"
"I know right?"
"Love really does exist, aww"
That was my breaking point. I cracked my knuckles before swinging at Aonung. My fist collided with his cheek, sending him tumbling down onto the sand. After that i began hitting him over...and over again.
"Neteyam?!" Oa're gasped, her voice filled with frantic urgency. "You're going to kill him!"
"Move Oa're" I growled, barely registering her words, my vision blurring with rage.
Her eyes widened, showing the pain that danced in their depths. "I-" she wiped her eyes and looked down.
I grabbed Aonung's braided queue, pulling him to his feet and dragging him towards my families marui.
I roughly pushed him towards my father, "Tell him what you told me" I snapped, tears filling my eyes.
