Calm Before The Storm

     Six months after the announcement of Lina's pregnancy, she managed to deliver a healthy baby girl. Eloise Maureen A. Elizondo was born the same as his birthday, it was a great surprise for their family. Now, he's in charge of changing Maureen's diaper. Although it has been three months since Lina's c-section. They had no choice at that time because District Ten decided to mess with them, which caused Lina's blood pressure to rise. After Lina safely delivered their child, he pulled out his shares in Dreamcatcher Development Corporation.

"Love, do you not regret pulling out your shares in DDC?"

"No Sweetheart, if it involves you and Maureen I will do anything and everything to protect you."

They were enjoying themselves when his phone suddenly rang, it was from France his secretary. Lina picked up the call for him faster than the speed of light, he didn't want to stress her out but remembered that she was considered the Iron Lady of the business world.

"France, what's wrong?"

"My lady, District Ten and Thirteen are fighting with each other."

It shocked them because as far as they know, District Ten and Thirteen belong to different business groups. So, why in the world would they be fighting against each other?

"Elaborate on it, France. I need to know the entire story."

"District Thirteen is blaming District Ten for what happened during the birth of baby Eloise, and District Ten is saying that they were being wrongly accused."

"Calm down, for now, France. I know what to do about them, just make sure that Aragon and Elizondo will not be dragged into this mess."

"Alright, Lady Sapphire."

He looked at his wife dumbfounded when the call ended, she was planning something for sure.

"I raised District Ten when our advisor was on maternity leave, I know them way better than anyone."

"Are you trying to find out who was the culprit, the day Maureen was born?"

"Relax, love. I already know who it was, I just need them to admit it themselves. Besides where's the fun if we expose them immediately right?"

Now that was something he didn't expect from her, but given the way she was explaining everything to him, she doesn't seem to be going into the battlefield.

"What's the ultimate desire of District Ten?"

His eyes widened upon the question, they all wanted to see her downfall. But she wouldn't give them the satisfaction right?

"Let's play a little game with them, in front of everyone we will become a divorced couple. But no one needs to know what happens behind closed doors. They won't figure anything out, because they have the attention span of a six-year-old child. Meaning they could only focus on one thing at a time. And during the time that they're focused on us, we will use that as an opportunity to penetrate DDC. Which would bring them hell."

His breath hitched after the explanation, he was seriously wondering if he married a businesswoman or a war strategist. Because he knows none of their batch mates would be able to think like that, this plan is close to perfection. Yet, they still need to be careful, since there are still loopholes. One wrong move and they'll start a war with District Ten, knowing the resources they have now, they can't fight back even with the help from District Thirteen.

"Don't think too much, I can see the gears in your head turning."

He couldn't say anything but just hugged her instead because he felt like it might be the last hug for them at least for a while. He wanted to cherish the moment with her. He tried to memorize everything related to her, yet he couldn't help but get emotional.

"It's just a show for District Ten, if the culprit was found we will be back together. Think of it as me giving your freedom back."

      Freedom. That's precisely the thing that was given to him the minute they got married, the thing that Lina thought she took away, was the thing she gave him. He guessed they weren't on the same page right from the start, and that's why up until now she still thinks like that. However he chose not to say anything, maybe this would help his wife accept everything that's about to happen. He stayed still for a moment until an idea popped up in his head. He could use this time to gain information about District Ten, all they wanted was to see them fall. Because they never liked Lina, so, if he cheated on her it would be her greatest downfall. He shivered upon the realization, but he had to toughen himself up, once he gained the trust of District Ten, he could infiltrate their territory.

    A little sacrifice would be necessary for the plan to work, and while being with District Ten he also needs help from District Thirteen, his district wouldn't just stand by and watch them fall. He might have a little problem with Azi, France, Kyle, Jayden, and Rancel. But all in all, they would help him for sure.

"Don't worry about Azi, the entire Archangel Technology respects me as a leader and a human being. I will explain everything to them, and they are one of my protection units."

He was shocked at her revelation because he almost forgot who she was. Since she was always being bullied, Mama Cecil, his mother-in-law arranged all the Aragon siblings to be in the same school and the same District to be able to protect her if anything happened. However, since she wanted them to have their freedom, she made friends outside of her District. Unfortunately, instead of having friends, she found a bunch of bullies. But his wife is a fighter, she managed to gain some protestors as well. Which includes the people from Gemstone Incorporated, Archangel Technology, and the entire District Thirteen.

"Let's set a meeting with them, I need to know that they can protect you while I'm away. We won't know what's up at District Ten's sleeves, and we need to make sure Maureen is safe."

"My parents were the guidance counselor of the university, they wouldn't do anything to them. So, we can ask them to take care of Eloise for now."

He nodded and saw she pressed number three on her speed dial, a few seconds later his phone rang as well. He picked up and heard how frantic everyone on the other line was. So, this was connected to the big four he thought. Because he heard Pete, Kyle, Azi, and Amethyst. And ten minutes later all of them arrived at the penthouse, the air between them was thick. He felt like he couldn't breathe at all, but he composed himself and faced them. So, this is what a war preparation looks like huh?
