taesan - his smile

"you know, he was actually insecure about his smile back then."

jaehyun's words kept replaying inside your head. a few days ago, you and jaehyun had a hang out, you asked him whether there's something you didn't know about taesan, he then told you about taesan's insecurity for his smile.

back when you just started dating taesan, you actually wondered why he kept covering his mouth whenever he smiled or laughed. you always find his smile cute and endearing, you loved his smile, it was one of your favourite features of him.

you and taesan were at your place, just spending time with each other while listening to the vinyl that was playing at the background.

you looked at him who was staring at his phone, you got closer to him and said, "you know," you paused, causing him to look at you, "i actually heard from jaehyun that you were insecure about your smile," you continued.

he placed down his phone, slightly smiled and nodded at your words, "well, that was way long before, i'm quite fine with it now."

you hummed and hugged his waist, placing your chin on his chest before looking up at him, "well, i just want to tell you that i really love your smile, you looked the prettiest whenever you smiled," you told him.

he looked away from you and covered his face, blushing because of your words. the way you looked at him while you said those words to him made him weak.

you whined when he covered his face, "hey, don't cover your face, i want to see your smile." he uncovered his face and instantly hugged you, burying his face into the crook of your neck, hiding his blushed face from you, "stop it, angel," he whined.

you caressed his hair, feeling his face was getting warmer, causing you to chuckle, "i'll never stop giving compliments on your smile, you need to know that."

he just quietly nodded and smiled at your words, still flustered by your words just now.

"i love you, angel."

"love you too."

a few days passed, you were making food in the kitchen while he was in the bedroom.

taesan walked out from the bedroom and walked straight to you. he leaned his head towards your shoulder, back hugging you and left a few pecks on your cheek and neck. you giggled at his touch, smiling softly, "you're being clingy again, babe."

after that day, he was being extra affectionate with you which you didn't mind at all, you enjoyed this side of him.

"i know you like it, angel," he said, snuggled more into you, "anyways, what are we having for dinner?" he asked. "my mum's stew," you answered, looking at him to see his reaction. his face brightened up, "ooh, the one we had that day?" you nodded, "hmm, you said that you liked it right? i asked my mum for the recipe."

"thank you so much, angel," he smiled, ruffling your hair. you smiled back at him, then looked around, realising that your phone was not by your side, "oh, can you go through my photo album in my phone? i think i took a picture of my mum's recipe that day," you asked.

"sure," he replied, pulling away from you and went to take your phone. he grabbed your phone that was on the dining table and unlocked it, smiling at your wallpaper which was a picture of you two. he then clicked on the photo icon, trying to find the recipe.

he paused when he noticed an album named "his smile <3", he furrowed his eyebrows, getting curious at the album. tapping on it, it revealed pictures of him smiling that you secretly took when you two were dating.

your action melted his heart, smiling lovingly while he went through the pictures, he had no idea you secretly took pictures of him when he was smiling or laughing.

he did knew that you loved his smile a lot but having an album dedicated for his smiles? well, that never crossed his mind, never once. seeing you treasured his smile meant a lot for him, it made him loved you even more.

he walked into the kitchen with your phone, you looked at him and asked, "did you find the picture?"

he didn't answer and went to hug you, you smiled at his sudden action and hugged him back, "okay, what's wrong?"

he pulled away from you and looked at you, his arms still resting on your waist, "i didn't know that you had an album dedicated for my smiles."

you chuckled and said, "that's why you're hugging me right now?" he nodded with a hum.

you caressed his cheeks with your hands and said, "maybe i'm really a fan of your smile." he smiled softly at your words, "thanks angel, i'll smile more often just for you from now on."

"you better keep your words, young man," you warned, pointing your finger at him. he chuckled at your non-threatening warning, nodded at you.

you smiled once you saw his smile again, you leaned in and placed your lips on his, leaving a soft kiss before pulling away from him. he smiled at your kiss, leaning back towards you and kissed you softly.

you both pulled away and smiled at each other, he placed his forehead on yours, mumbled, "i love you, angel." you blushed at his words, "love you too, babe."

"oh, by the way, i can't find the recipe."

"really?"

and that's how you and taesan ended up eating takeout that day.
