Later that night, the LaFleur family gathered around their wooden table, the room filled with the warmth of a well-cooked meal and the crackling of the fire in the hearth. The smell of savory stew drifted through the air as everyone sat in their usual spots, the clinking of spoons against bowls the only sound at first.

Their parents, Adonis and Lite LeFleur sat across from them. They were eating a steaming hot bowl of soup that was thick with vegetables and meat, a staple of their farm, but tonight it tasted especially rich. While the rest of the family blew gently on their spoons to cool their food, Rum was taking hearty bites, unaffected by the heat of the meal while also enjoying his cut of bread.

Yapa: I'll never get over you just straight up eating hot food like it's nothing.

Rum: Jealous?

Yapa: Maybe. Just a little bit.

Adonis wiped his mouth with a cloth and looked up, his gaze moving from one child to the next, a thoughtful expression on his weathered face.

Adonis: Hey, your mother and I got something to say to you three. We'll be having a business meeting at Bronx Town, so we'll be leaving early tomorrow morning and won't be back for about... mmm... two days.

Bronx Town was a few hours away, a bustling place compared to their quiet village, but it wasn't uncommon for their parents to head out for business meetings.

Lite: While we're gone, we're trusting the three of you to handle things while we're away.

Yapa: Alright, we'll be sure to have everything covered. Maybe I can take care of the shop while Pillo and Rum work on the farm.

Pillo: Do you even know how to run a shop by yourself?

Yapa: Dad taught me how, so I'm sure I can take care of it. But the both of you are free to join whenever you're free.

Rum: Sounds fine by me.

Lite: Just make sure you three split the tasks right, that way it shouldn't be too much of a problem. But you are all couple young adults, so you should be fine.
