Fourteen

Holy mother of Jesus. I was screwed and just didn't know what I should do. Messaging Rylee and telling her that would make things worse. She knew I was sleeping with Malachi. What she didn't know was that Malachi wanted a huge payout. And to give him that, I had to rob Casey. I was doing this for a paper that I spent four years trying to get. I rushed toward the bed, crying my eyes out because of what was about to happen. Pretty soon, Casey would be messaging me back about this failed robbery. What was I going to tell him?

I fumbled with my phone and answered a call from Casey.

"Kali, that room is restricted. Can you please not input random numbers? I kept getting notifications on my phone. I'll talk to you about this when I get back home.

"I got curious that's all."

"Kali, it is a forbidden room." He laughed. "It is safe and I don't want you going in there."

Casey told me with what he had in there was a man who was so devoted. How could he trust me with something like that?

I joked about it. "What is the combination?"

He laughed. "Are you out of your damn mind? It is private."

"I'm your girl." That was when I knew that getting money for Malachi was out of reach. I could go to jail for invading his privacy. I had no business doing this to a man I hadn't known for a long time.

"I have to protect my assets. Babe. The food should be there soon. Talk to you soon. Love you."

"Love you too." I hung up and collapsed on the bed. If Casey found out that I slept with Malachi, he would for sure break up with me. I broke down and cried my eyes out. My heart began to hurt and my entire body shook. I was hurting the inside so badly.

"How was it?" I asked Casey.

He was inside the bedroom, looking at me with a frown on his handsome face. I could tell he was ready to talk about the secret room with me. For two whole days, I was worried about my stupid actions. Casey shook his head and took off his cufflinks. He shrugged out of his jacket, laying it down on a chaise lounge.

"Can you let me know why it was okay for you to invade my privacy?" He laid his hands on his hips in the middle of the room, a scowl on his face. That boy looked so delicious standing in the middle of the room with his blue boxers on. "I decided to be calm over the phone."

"I'm sorry. I won't do it again."

"Why do you feel like you had to do this?" He sat down next to me on the bed. "Explain this to me. Do you owe the mafia?" He had no idea how very close to home he was.

"Maybe you should break up with me. I'm trouble."

"I expected some stupid shit from a teenager. Can you grow up?"

"If you want a serious person you should date a girl your age or older. I am leaving."

"Leave, Kali."

"We are so done." I felt too embarrassed to live there. If he wanted me gone as well then I was so gone. I got out of the bed and slowly walked to the doorway. That was when Casey took my hand in his and spun me around to face him.

"What do you want my love? You've entered so many incorrect codes like a mad criminal."

"I was only curious."

"If you want money to start college why didn't you ask me?"

"I was not trying to get in to take anything, Casey. Just making sure you realize that."
