Delilah's POV
Lucas decided to pick me up after school, which surprised me.
I was taking notes on my laptop while I was in class. College is quite boring and hard; I barely passed last semester due to lack of time.
"You will be tested on this topic next week. Please be prepared." Mr. Clarke shut his book down and dismissed the class.
Finally!
"Delilah right?" A curled, hairy boy with a tint of brown hazel eyes tapped my shoulders lightly.
I hummed, packing my bag. "Would you mind showing me how to get out of this building? I'm new here; this map is useless." The boy asked softly while opening the map from his bag.
I chuckled, remembering my first time here. It's true what he said-that the map is useless. I was so clumsy and nervous on my first day of college.
I spilled a drink on a girl, and I wasn't surprised that she wanted to jump me that day.
The boy raised his eyebrow at me, looking at me as if I were making fun of him.
"Oh sorry! It's just that it reminds me of the time I was new here. I'll show you the way." I grabbed my bag and left for class with him.
"Dylan. My name is Dylan," he said nervously. "Nice name. "Are you enjoying your class?" As I entered the busy hallways, I asked.
"Unfortunately, no, I already have a test for next week. Absolutely not." He swings his hands, and I laughed.
"Welcome to college, my dear." He laughs out loud, "The cafeteria around here is very good." He surveyed the cafeteria as we were leaving.
I opened the exit door. "It was nice to know you, Dylan." I politely smiled at him. "Welcome, since we are in the same class. Would you mind showing me around the college when you have the time?" He scratched his hair, looking around the area.
I nod at him.
I turned my head and found Lucas outside the car, leaning against the car door with his arm folded, looking directly at his phone.
My smile brightened, and I walked up to him. Upon observing him, I noticed his unusually formal outfit, as if he were about to go out.
Lucas normally wears a hoodie and sweatpants every day. It feels like a crime to see him dressed well.
He looked down at me and smiled brightly. He opened my door, saying nothing. "It's surprising you came." I sighed, throwing my bag at the back seat, forgetting I had my laptop there.
He hums and starts to drive. "Why do you look formal, like your style now." I inquired, pointing my finger at him.
"Would you like to go dinner with me?" I froze; his eyes were focused on the road, while I'm still looking at him.
Did he just ask me out?
What should I say?
Is it normal for a friend to ask you out?
Don't be ridiculous. Delilah, maybe it's just a friend dinner.
Yes, it's a friend dinner; nothing to worry.
"Sure! A friend dinner with you would be great."
He gazed at me, his throat clearing. "Friend dinner?" he asked, looking in my direction. "Lucas, you are driving!"
He burst into laughter, rolling his eyes. "If that's the reason you are dressed up, then you look lovely."
"Thank you," he said softly. I couldn't hear him enough.

I have only one hour to get ready, and I'm. Not sure what to wear
I'm nervous. I went to my knees and prayed for God to overwhelm me with his peace.
I called Maddy for help, and she was more enthusiastic than I was.
"It's just a friend dinner." I rolled my eyes at her, pulling out all the dresses I had available.
"If it is a 'Friend dinner,' why are you so nervous and excited about it?" I was stunned by her question; I stayed silent because I didn't know what to say.
"I was right. You like him!" she said while checking out the dresses I had.
"I don't! We have been best friends for years. It would be weird if I did." I said.
"Yeah, don't tell me I was right when you guys end up married." She scoffs at me. I throw a pillow at her, and she catches it.
"Oh okay! Let's get started."
I tried every dress I had, Maddy, and I picked a white dress that reaches below my knees.
"Perfect." Maddy clapped her hands, smiling at the view.

I prefer not to wear makeup, just lip gloss. Not a big fan of makeup. I let my curls down and refreshed them.
"My girl is so stunning! Look at God's creation!" Maddy gasped, "Don't be dramatic over it, please."
Maddy and I went downstairs to find Atlas and Stella in the kitchen.
"My dear! You are so beautiful." Stella smiled at me. "Now, why are you going out like that? And who are you going with?" Atlas rolled his eyes inannoyance.
"Lucas, ask her out." Maddy's scream was likely heard in my ear. Atlas almost choked on his water.
"What!"
"It's not like that! Brother, it's just a friendly dinner, that's all." I defended myself, glaring at Maddy.
"Friendly dinner? Girl, a boy wouldn't ask you out for dinner just because you're friends."
"Ugh! Brother!"
"Wait! Lucas, our Lucas?" He asked again, surprised, and I nodded at him.
"The last time I saw him, I was changing his clothes." Atlas said sarcastically.
"No, man, I need to have a talk with him," he said. He said it suspiciously.
"There's nothing to say to him."
I heard a knock on the door and said, "It's him." I mumbled.
Atlas was looking so excited; he ran before I could since I had heels on. "Don't do something stupid!"
"Mr.Fitz." Lucas said, surprised, "Lucas, don't act like you don't know me. What are your intentions with my sister?"
I interrupted him before Lucas responded, "We might be late." I said, grabbing Lucas wrist. "I'll be back in two hours!" I walked as quickly as possible, and at last, the door closed.
"You look quite amazing." With a nervous expression, Lucas opened the door for me to enter.
"Thanks; same goes for you." I smiled politely.

We arrived, and Lucas had already booked a reservation.
It was awkward between us for the first time in years; I don't know what to say to him.
"Do you like the place?" He asked, "It's nice."
I opened the menu, and it caught me by surprise; they have Italian food.
"I love it here! They have my favorite Italian food." I gasped looking at the menu.
"I picked the perfect restaurant." He chuckles. "Indeed." I smiled at him.
We ordered our meal and started talking.
"Are you the one who ate my last chocolate bar?" I pointed at him. "I can't lie."
"I was angry because someone took my last bar, and I never thought it was you." I chuckled.
When that incident occurred, I was only seven years old. I've always wondered who did it, and now I know the truth.
"After all these years, you confessed." I laughed out loud, "I was afraid you might jump me back then." You were kind of scary back then as a kid."
"I wasn't." I denied; I took a sip of my water. "If that's what you say."
For the rest of the night, we talked and ate our food.
Lucas carried me home. I was stunned that he had kissed my hand. He also reminded me to pray before I go to sleep.
He keeps doing things that are questionable.
